College can be expensive, but there are ways to minimize the financial burden of post-secondary education. See below for general scholarship information, scholarship types, and a list of hundreds of scholarships that you can apply for.
A scholarship is a grant or payment made to support a student's education, awarded on the basis of academic or other achievement. Scholarships DO NOT have to be payed back!
There are two main types:
Institutional scholarships: These are offered by specific colleges and universities. You can apply for them if you also apply to that specific school.
Third party scholarships: These are offered by a variety of groups such as community organizations, corporations, non-profits, and churches. They can be used to help with your tuition at any school.
