If you want a precision-engineered, single-piece shield for your modern 5.7-foot Ram bed that prioritizes maximum wear resistance and a seamless fit without tailgate coverage, choose TripleAliners 5.7FT; if you need a heavy-duty, two-piece system with dedicated tailgate protection for older Ram models or the larger 6.4-foot bed, choose ChiefCarOfficer Truck Bed Mat. This decision isn't about which mat is generally "better," but strictly about which vehicle architecture and hauling lifestyle you are actually trying to protect. I have analyzed the design specifications and material claims for both options to cut through the noise, focusing on who these products actually serve when you are out on the trail or loading up for a work week.
• TripleAliners 5.7FT: Its biggest strength is the patented FortiGrip material offering 25% higher wear resistance and a custom-molded fit for specific 2019–2027 Ram 1500 short beds; its trade-off is that it offers no tailgate protection and requires strict model verification as it excludes the RamBox and Classic models.
• ChiefCarOfficer Truck Bed Mat: Its biggest strength is the comprehensive two-piece set covering both the 6.4-foot bed floor and the tailgate surface, providing a full barrier against dirt and scratches; its trade-off is that it targets an older generation of trucks (2009–2018) and the newer Classic models, missing the latest body styles entirely.
• Who it's for: The TripleAliners pick is for owners of the newest DT-body Ram 1500s focused on off-road durability in the bed itself, while the ChiefCarOfficer pick is for owners of the previous generation or Classic models who need a complete bed-and-tailgate solution.
The TripleAliners 5.7FT truck bed mat is designed with a singular focus: protecting the cargo area of the very latest Ram 1500 short bed configurations. If you own a 2019 through 2027 Ram 1500 or the 2025–2027 RHO variant with the new DT body, this is the only option in this comparison that will truly hug the contours of your truck floor. The manufacturer specifies that it is not for the RamBox, the Classic model, or any long-bed configuration, meaning its utility is highly specialized. This specialization allows the product to achieve a level of precision that generic liners cannot match.
What sets this mat apart from the competition is the FortiGrip material. According to the technical data, this proprietary compound provides a 25% increase in wear resistance compared to regular materials produced in the same way. For anyone using their truck for overlanding, where gear shifts constantly during bumpy trails, or for hauling heavy tools that might scrape against the metal floor, this extra layer of durability is significant. The raised wall edges are engineered specifically to block water and dirt from escaping onto the cab carpet, while the 3D anti-slip surface ensures that your load stays put even when the truck is moving.
However, this product is not a universal solution. You must skip this item if your truck has the optional RamBox storage system, as the fitment is explicitly incompatible. Similarly, if you drive a 6.4-foot bed or a long bed, this liner will not cover your floor properly. It also does not include a tailgate mat, leaving that surface exposed to the elements and potential damage. If your primary concern is having a complete seal over the entire rear access point of your truck, this single-piece design will leave a gap in your protection strategy. It is best suited for the driver who values floor integrity and material science over total surface coverage.

The ChiefCarOfficer Truck Bed Mat takes a different approach by offering a complete two-piece system designed for the broader range of Ram trucks built between 2009 and 2026. This set includes both a bed liner and a separate tailgate mat, making it the logical choice for owners of the 6.4-foot short bed found on the Ram 1500 Classic (2019–2024), the standard Ram 1500 (2009–2018), and the heavy-duty Ram 2500/3500 models up to 2026. The inclusion of the tailgate mat is a critical feature, especially for those who use the tailgate as a workbench during off-road adventures or camping trips.
The design philosophy here centers on full coverage and versatility. By covering both the bed floor and the tailgate, the set protects every corner of the vehicle from dirt, scratches, and wear. The TPE material used is noted for remaining flexible and maintaining its shape without cracking or curling under normal conditions, which is essential for vehicles that see varied weather exposure. The textured, anti-slip surface helps keep cargo from sliding around, while the raised edges act as a tray to contain spills and debris. This makes it a robust option for those who haul messy loads or frequently expose their truck to the outdoors.
Installation is straightforward, requiring no tools for the bed mat, though the tailgate mat may require screws for secure attachment. Like most thermoplastic elastomers, creases may appear after shipping, but these can be removed by placing the mats in a warm, sunny area or rinsing them with hot water. However, buyers must be aware that this set is not compatible with the newest 2019+ non-Classic Ram 1500s or the 6.4-foot bed on the latest body styles unless they fall into the specific Classic category. If you drive a brand-new 2024 Ram 1500 without the Classic designation, this mat likely won't fit correctly. It is ideal for the owner of a previous-generation truck who wants a hassle-free, all-encompassing shield for their entire rear end.
• Best for precise fitment on new bodies → TripleAliners 5.7FT, because it is molded specifically for the 2019–2027 DT body and 2025–2027 RHO variants, whereas the other option misses these models.
• Best for complete tailgate protection → ChiefCarOfficer Truck Bed Mat, as it includes a dedicated second piece for the tailgate, which the TripleAliners option lacks entirely.
• Best for overlanding durability on the floor → TripleAliners 5.7FT, thanks to the patented FortiGrip material that claims 25% higher wear resistance against shifting gear.
• Best for older generations and heavy duty → ChiefCarOfficer Truck Bed Mat, given its compatibility with Ram 2500/3500 models and the 2009–2018 Ram 1500 lineup.
• Best for simple installation without hardware → TripleAliners 5.7FT, since it requires no screws or tools, while the ChiefCarOfficer tailgate mat may require screw fixation.
• Best for avoiding RamBox incompatibility issues → TripleAliners 5.7FT for the new body style, but note that neither works with RamBox-equipped trucks; however, ChiefCarOfficer is better for the Classic models that often lack RamBox.
• Best for containing messes in varied weather → Both, but ChiefCarOfficer offers more surface area coverage for spills on the tailgate, while TripleAliners focuses on the bed floor containment.
• Best for preventing cargo slide → Both feature anti-slip surfaces, but TripleAliners emphasizes the 3D texture for immediate grip, while ChiefCarOfficer relies on the general textured finish.
In my opinion, the right choice depends entirely on your truck's generation and whether you need the tailgate covered. If you drive a modern Ram 1500 RHO or a 2019+ non-Classic model with the 5.7-foot bed, the TripleAliners 5.7FT is the superior engineering choice due to its specialized fit and advanced FortiGrip material. However, if you are driving a classic or heavy-duty Ram with a 6.4-foot bed, the ChiefCarOfficer set is the only viable option that provides the full coverage you need. For someone specifically planning a trip for overlanding, I would lean toward the TripleAliners 5.7FT if my vehicle supports it, because the increased wear resistance on the floor is critical when dragging heavy gear over rocks and roots, provided I don't mind managing the tailgate separately.
No, neither product is compatible with trucks equipped with the optional RamBox storage system. Both manufacturers explicitly state that the mats will not fit properly if the side rails are occupied by RamBox units.
Both products are made from TPE material, which is known for remaining flexible and maintaining its shape without cracking or curling under normal use, including cold weather conditions typical for North American winters.
For both products, temporary creases are common after shipping. The recommended method is to leave the mat in the sun on a flat surface for 1–2 days or rinse it with hot water to help it return to its original shape before installation.
No, the TripleAliners 5.7FT package contains only the single bed floor mat. It does not include a tailgate liner, so you would need to purchase a separate accessory if you want to protect that surface.
