● 3 Kids - 6th, 9th, and 12th grade in Gilbert Public Schools

● Married for 22 years to Jason Jonas (CPA/MBA, CFO & Consultant)

● GPS parent for 9 years

● Master’s Degree in public administration with an emphasis in nonprofit organizations

● Bachelor’s in Marketing Communications

● Worked in the nonprofit sector for 10 years

● Current owner of a real estate business

● 2-time cancer survivor

● Sustaining member of the Junior League of Phoenix

● Actively involved in School Parent Groups (PTA, PTSO, PTRO) for over 15 years

● Former Girl Scout troop leader & Cub Scout leader

● Volunteer for Gilbert American Little League, WHAM Basketball, youth soccer, and volleyball

● Former President of Greenfield Elementary PTSO, Art Masterpiece Chair, Secretary, Sponsorship Chair, Site Council Member

● Former President of Greenfield Junior High PTRO

● Volunteer at Highland High School including former Volleyball Boosters Vice President, incoming President of Girls Golf Boosters, Site Council Liaison to the District, and parent representative on A+ school application committee

● Parent Representative on GPS ELA Curriculum Adoption Committee (2020)

● Current Vice President of Training and Vendors of the GPS Volunteer Network (VNet) – responsible for training parent groups throughout our district on best practices, fundraising, nonprofit procedures, and financial accountability

How I Will Lead:

● The foundation of all decisions made by the school board is based on what is best for children and families in our community.

● My passion for public education is built on strong partnerships among parents, students, and teachers. The community is only as vibrant as our education system.

● Fiscal responsibility, including wise use of tax dollars and intentional investments in our schools, teachers, and staff, is imperative to building trust and being accountable.

● The challenges we face as a community include learning loss from the pandemic, ensuring a positive and challenging learning environment, adapting and using technology for maximum effectiveness, and early identification and intervention of challenges for our students. I bring a tenacity for problem-solving and a collaborative approach to each opportunity for improvement.

● Equal access to resources and fair investment for every child and every school.

● My role as a current GPS parent, community, school, and district volunteer, and small business owner brings a new perspective to the school board, with new ideas, fresh energy, excellent communication skills, and a great desire to serve the community I love.
