Trent Krupa joined the Smeal College of Business at Penn State in July 2025 as an Assistant Professor of Accounting. Prior to Penn State, Trent served as an Assistant Professor at the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. Trent received his PhD in Accounting from the University of Connecticut and his research is published in the Journal of Accounting and Economics, The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Review of Accounting Studies.

Prior to academia, Trent worked for eight years in governance, risk, and compliance roles within the insurance industry. His years of experience assessing the tax consequences of strategic decisions and other enterprise-wide risks informs his research in the areas of corporate taxation with emphasis on the interaction between taxes, business decisions, and capital markets.
