This policy explains what Trend Duel does with information when you play it. It is written for the Android application with the package name com.proefektpremium.trendduel, published by Trend Duel Publisher ("we", "us").

THE SHORT VERSION
Trend Duel has no accounts, no sign-in and no publisher server.
- Your settings, best streak and daily progress are stored on your device only.
- The app sends curated Wikipedia article titles to Wikimedia to read public aggregate view counts. It never sends anything about you.
- The app shows ads through Google AdMob. Google may process device and advertising data to do that, subject to your consent choices.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not run our own analytics.
INFORMATION THE APP ITSELF HANDLES
Stored on your device
The app keeps a small amount of gameplay data locally using Android's DataStore. None of it is transmitted to us, because we operate no server.
Best classic streak and total completed runs.
- The active classic run, so it survives a phone restart or the system reclaiming memory.
- Daily Challenge progress, answers, score and completion state.
- Sound, haptics and reduce-motion preferences, and whether you have seen the tutorial.
- A bounded cache of recently fetched public pageview totals.
- Counters and timestamps used to limit how often ads are shown.
Uninstalling the app removes all of it. Android's own backup feature may include the settings and records files if you have device backup enabled; the cache, the active run and the ad counters are explicitly excluded from backup and device transfer.
Not collected at all
The app's own code never collects, requests or stores: name, email address, phone number, or any account identifier; precise or approximate location; contacts, calendar, photos, videos, audio recordings or files; messages, health data or financial data; any custom analytics, crash-reporting or behavioural profile.
INFORMATION SENT TO WIKIMEDIA
Every number in the game is a live value from the Wikimedia Analytics API. To read a value the app makes an ordinary HTTPS request that contains: the curated English Wikipedia article title being compared; a fixed date range (30 complete UTC days); a descriptive User-Agent identifying the app, as the Wikimedia Foundation's User-Agent Policy requires; standard network metadata that any HTTPS request carries, including your IP address.
The response contains only public aggregate daily view counts for that article. No identifier of you or your device is attached, and nothing about your gameplay is sent. Wikimedia's handling of the request is governed by the Wikimedia Privacy Policy (foundation.wikimedia.org/wiki/Policy:Privacy_policy).
Pageview data provided by the Wikimedia Analytics API. Wikimedia and Wikipedia are trademarks of the Wikimedia Foundation and this app is not endorsed by or affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation.
3. ADVERTISING
Trend Duel is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. It uses two formats only: an optional rewarded ad you choose to watch, and an occasional interstitial shown at the end of a completed run or challenge. There are no banner, app-open, native or rewarded-interstitial ads.
Because an advertising SDK is integrated, it would be untrue to say that no data is collected. Google and its ad partners may process, subject to your consent and your region: device identifiers, including the Android advertising ID; coarse, IP-derived location as inferred by Google; device and app information, ad interaction and performance diagnostics; your consent choices themselves.
Trend Duel does not add any custom targeting of its own: no player streak, no topic name, no gameplay data and no profile is ever attached to an ad request. The app requests a maximum ad content rating of PG and declares that it is not directed to children.
How Google uses data from apps that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Your consent choices
Where required (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the app presents a consent message through the Google User Messaging Platform before requesting any ad. If a privacy-options entry point is required for your region, a Privacy choices row appears in the app's Settings screen so you can review or change your choices at any time. Ads are only requested once the consent framework reports that requests are permitted.
You can also reset or delete your advertising ID from your device's Settings Privacy Ads.
PERMISSIONS
INTERNET The game is online-only; it reads live public pageview data.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE To detect losing and regaining connectivity so a run can pause and resume instead of failing.
VIBRATE Short haptic feedback on guesses and results. Off whenever you turn Haptics off in Settings.
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID Added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK so ads can be served and measured.
None of these prompts you at runtime. The app requests no location, notification, camera, microphone, contacts, storage, calendar, Bluetooth or phone permission.
5. DATA SHARING AND SELLING
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with anyone, because we do not receive it. The only third party involved is Google, acting as our advertising provider under its own terms and your consent choices, plus the Wikimedia Foundation, which receives the ordinary network request described in section 2.
6. RETENTION
Local gameplay data stays on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. The pageview cache is bounded to the most recent entries and is replaced as you play. Retention of any data processed by Google for advertising is governed by Google's own policies.
7. CHILDREN
Trend Duel is a general-audience game intended for users aged 13 and above. It is not directed to children, it is not enrolled in a families programme, and it does not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, contact us using the address at the top of this policy and we will assist as far as we are able noting again that we operate no server and hold no user records.
8. THIRD-PARTY LINKS
The About & Data Sources screen links to Wikimedia and Google documentation and policies. Those sites are operated by other organisations and are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
YOUR CHOICES
- Turn sound, haptics and animation down or off in Settings.
- Review or change ad consent in Settings Privacy choices, where your region requires that entry point.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in the Android system settings.
- Clear all local data at any time through Android's App info Storage Clear storage, or by uninstalling the app.
- Nothing in the game requires you to watch an ad: the shield and the revive are optional, and every classic run and daily challenge is fully playable without them.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If this policy changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and publish the revised version at the same address. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's store listing. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
