Tilak Apps ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Tree Identifier: AI Tree ID ® app (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
• Photos and images — When you use the identification feature, you may take or upload photos of trees or wood. These images are used to provide identification results.
• Device information — We may collect device type, operating system version, and app version to improve the App and troubleshoot issues.
• Usage data — We may collect how you use the App (e.g., features used, frequency) to improve our services.
• Subscription and purchase data — If you subscribe via the App, Apple processes your payment. We may receive information about your subscription status (e.g., active, expired) to provide access to premium features. We do not store your payment card details.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
• To provide tree and wood identification and related information.
• To improve the App, our AI models, and user experience.
• To communicate with you about the App (e.g., updates, support).
• To comply with applicable laws and enforce our terms.
3. PHOTOS AND IMAGES
Photos you take or upload for identification may be processed on your device and/or on our or our service providers’ servers to deliver identification results. We do not use your photos for advertising or sell them to third parties. We may use anonymized or aggregated image data to improve our identification technology.
4. DATA SHARING AND THIRD PARTIES
• Apple — The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple’s privacy policy applies to your use of the App Store and in-app purchases. We do not control data collected by Apple.
• Service providers — We may use third-party services (e.g., hosting, analytics, AI/ML) to operate the App. These providers are bound by agreements to protect your data and use it only as we instruct.
• We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. DATA RETENTION
We retain your information only as long as needed to provide the App, improve our services, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us (see Section 9).
6. DATA SECURITY
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App and/or updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
