Cuba is the largest island in the Caribbean and has been suffering from the rule of the communist regime since 1959. Before the US Embargo of 1960, Cuba was one of the most advanced and prosperous nations in Latin America.
Although about 59% of the population would consider themselves Catholic, Cuba recognizes itself as a secular nation. There is no national religion and witchcraft runs rampant throughout the island. However, over 50 years of hardship, persecution, and great resilience, disciples of Jesus are multiplying!
The Gospel is on the rise through the house church networks, but there is still great work to be done! We are being invited to partake in this great harvest of God's people. Will you go?
We officially began working in Cuba in 2013 before the embargo lifted, and have been partnering with a ministry that trains and sends out obedient leaders to reach the nations–yes, not just their own. Since 2007 they have sent over 150 missionaries and planted over 60 churches!
On this mission you will stay in private Cuban houses and alongside local Cuban missionaries you may: encourage local church members, play sports with kids, share the Gospel with anyone you meet, share in Bible studies or church services, worship with local believers and visiting different church plants, pray for the sick and interceding on behalf of Cuba. Most importantly, by being open to the people and situations God places in front of you, the opportunities to serve Jesus and share the Gospel are endless. Be ready to witness the Church as pure as it may have been in the early church.
After applying for this mission, you will receive access to our extensive Cuba portal, guiding you in all preparations.
