The committee is concerned with the improvement, responsiveness and marketing of public transportation systems to current and potential customers; the development of research and applications useful to transit management in making public transportation use more attractive, including: the dissemination of information to current and potential customers, and the improvement of services, routes, schedules, and user information systems. The committee also addresses issues and research related to fare policy, fare structure, sales of fare media and the impact of fare policy decisions and marketing on transit customer use.

The Public Transportation Marketing and Fare Policy Committee is pleased to present its first in a series of quarterly newsletters. Every three months we will release informative content meant to keep our friends and members up-to-date on a diverse set of topics that we hope you'll find useful and fun to read. In this Q1 2025 edition, after a year that brought fires, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes, we bring you some best practices on emergency communications gleaned in interviews with personnel from Houston METRO and the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) System. Enjoy!
