1.KUSUM ROLLS (PARK STREET)

Miles before you can spot the crowd of hungry customers waiting around the counter at Kusum Rolls, you’ll smell the luscious aroma of spiced chickens, muttons, onions, and hot frying paratha bread with smoky scent of fried eggs.

The menu at Kusum Rolls in pretty basic: Mouth-watering egg roll (not a Chinese spring roll, but a paratha with an egg in the middle rolled up), chicken roll, and mutton roll, and many others, loaded with crisp ingredients like tangy sauces, onion sprinkles, chilies, veggies, pepper.

Sounds much spicy!! But its delicious and so famous in whole of Kolkata.

2.NIZAAM RESTAURANT

With juicy, roasted kebab fillings delicately wrapped in tender and golden yellow parathas, the kathi roll is among the most satisfying of street foods in Kolkata. A hot favorite around Kolkata, this specialty delicious snack is only available at Nizaam. Nizam’s kebabs, grilled until almost charred on long iron skewers as per the standard practice, were immensely popular yet greasy and to be eaten on the go. However, another hit dish of Nizaam's is their biriyani. Just try the biriyani once, of this place. The sweet smell of soft buttery potato fries in the biriyani along with a pinch of raita is just wowsome.

3. PETER CAT

Peter Cat in Kolkata is one of the best solutions for continental dishes. The taste of half boiled egg pouch on fried rice is so delicious. Popular because of their continental gems, they also top the list of hot favorite Indian cuisines (and Bengali cuisines too!) for some foodgasm dose. The best part is however the two special dishes - the chelo kabab and sizzler of Peter Cat, that are not only the best in Kolkata but also the first ones you must go for in this entire list. These are absolute must tries at this eatery.

4.SHER-E-PUNJAB

The sitting arrangement of this restaurant is super royal. The comfy seats with luxurious food. If you are finding a royal palace food then I would definitely suggest trying the delicious Punjabi cuisines served by this restaurant so royally. Just like the place our Kolkata has varied cultural restaurants scattered across the city. The creamy buttery tandoori chicken and butter naan of this place are to die for apart from their paneer dishes. Spot out a better place for butter paneer and butter naan in Kolkata, we'll wait.

5.PARIS CAFE

This restaurant in Kolkata looks as if a queen has created her favorite bucket list place to settle all cup cakes in a single white showcase residing in a snow white colored room. The total princessy vibe of this place is owed to its charming decoration and of course yum desserts. You won't believe the creamy and ingeniously designed desserts are actually for real. Some aesthetic customized orders are always available here. This is so beautiful that you wont even imagine Kolkata is having such Pinteresty places for all age groups!

6. INDIAN

The name in it defines the menu card of this restaurant. All kinds of Indian cuisines and dishes are there, starting from Makki di roti to bengali rosogolla to Mughal biriyani (oh, this is the must-try of this place). All mixtures of cultures make this place a complete unity in diversity. Though the name is kinda different but, the sophisticated place with friendly staffs are extremely warm and perfect for a family outing. Nevertheless, even Chinese and Italian dishes are available here (but, you may need a reservation sometimes, it's that good!).

7.MACHAAN

Machaan interiors a place with dense faux and wild plants, dining inside a tree house, sounds of birds chirping and leaves rustling in soft cold wind. It's quite a low lit and evergreen place like you would see in a jungle. The staff is extremely polite and helpful in suggesting the best combinations. The go-to dish here is undoubtedly the grilled non veg items served with cocktails. Their huge menu of refreshing drinks, binge-worthy grilled items, continentals, and Indian cuisines will have you by the hook for hours together.

8.BOMBAY BRASSERIE

When the kebabs landed on my plate, I could not hide my excitement. Served with some chilled mocktails, the butter naan, kebabs, and sabudhana papads with chutney served with six types of dips was an experience by itself. For more fun ask for some pickles. And as I was reveling in their varied taste, the chili cheese kulchas arrived in style. Biscuit-sized kulchas stuffed with cheese became my newest comfort food instantly. The French-themed decors with caged chandeliers and recessed artwork make its ambiance top-notch without a second thought. This restaurant is my current favorite place to get all tasty snacks at affordable price.

9. BHOJO HORI MANNA

If you want to know why Bengali dishes tops the list of the most delectable cuisines, no other place than Bhojohori Manna is the best in proving the hype. This place has even bagged the award of Times Food Awards twice in the past for their delectable selection of authentic Bengali recipes. The best of Bengali fish dishes, veg recipes, chicken, mutton are available here. Mostly this place is worth all the hype for all kinds of authentic Bengali foods, you also get to taste a hand full of grilled, smokey seafood dishes, the best being their "chingri maach er malai kaari (prawn curry)". If you are more into veg, don't miss out their "aloo posto" and "sukto" (made with bitter gourd, but the most delicious!).

10.MARCO POLO

Marco Polo has been an old favorite of all of the city residents. The food, hospitality is out of the world. Kallol and his team take great responsibility towards the guests. I consider this place as a good choice for continental foods. Even there are some special dishes made on different festivals celebrated in Kolkata or India. Sit at a table at one of these eateries, enjoy hot and yummy food while chowing down on comfort food like Phad Thai with vegetables and vodka-soaked prawns with garlic aioli, to name a few.

Needless to say, you simply cannot miss a meal at some classic restaurants and dhabas in Kolkata. Talking about restaurants in Kolkata, including the heritage gems, there are thousands of "foodie's paradise" here, but you can be a tad stuck when it comes to prices. But, street foods give you the best of the city on a big plate and stretched pockets, which is nowhere near the iconic restaurants. Prices are still less from years together and the taste of these hot, crispy, and tangy delish remains the same. Visiting the city of joy is all about joy and food.
