At Travel Map, your privacy is our core priority. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use our mobile application. Our guiding principle is simple: Your data never leaves your device.
Travel Map is designed to be used without creating an account or providing any personal details.
No Personal Data: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.
Local Photo Analysis: When you grant permission to access your photo library, the app analyzes the metadata (location and date) embedded in your photos. This analysis happens exclusively on your iPhone.
Unlike many travel apps, we do not use external servers to process or store your travel history:
Zero Cloud Uploads: Your photos and their location data are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party cloud service controlled by us.
On-Device Technology: We use Apple’s official APIs (CoreLocation and MapKit) to determine which countries and cities you have visited. All calculations are performed locally by your device’s processor.
Offline Functionality: Once installed, the app functions entirely offline for country detection and statistics.
Our app interacts with the following system services to provide its features:
Apple Maps / MapKit: Used to display your travel map and perform "reverse geocoding" (turning coordinates into city names). This process is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
iCloud Photos: If you use iCloud Photo Library, the app may access local versions or download thumbnails via Apple’s secure protocols to build your map.
Because we do not store your data on external servers, there is no risk of a data breach on our end. Your data is as secure as your iPhone itself. We recommend using a passcode or FaceID/TouchID to protect your device.
You have absolute control over your information:
Access: You can see all the data the app generates (statistics and maps) directly within the interface.
Deletion: Deleting the app from your device immediately and permanently removes all locally stored data, including city caches and travel stats.
Revoking Permission: You can stop the app from accessing your photos at any time through your iPhone’s Settings > Privacy > Photos.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here and reflected in the "Last Updated" date.
