The Statue of Liberty is one of the most famous symbols in the entire nation. Located on an island in front of Manhattan, and with its 93 meters high, is the symbol of freedom. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to the United States and was inaugurated on 28 October 1886. The project was made by the sculptor Frederic Bartholdi, but the internal structure of iron is an idea of Gustave Eiffel. Built and assembled in France, was then disassembled, shipped to New York and then reassembled on the island where it still stands. The Statue of Liberty is a woman wearing a long robe, she holds a torch in one hand, symbol of the eternal fire of liberty, while in another hand she holds a book where is written the date of the Independence Day, 14 July 1776. And in the head there is a crown with the 7 points that represent the 7 seas and 7 continents and there is a big terrace from which you can see a beautiful sight of New York.
