The falls represent one of the most suggestive natural shows and one of the greatest tourist attractions in Northern America. The imposing fall of water, that has a general course of 11.000 mc / s, is separated in two sections from the Goat Island; they are created so two falls: one in Canadian territory and one in American territory. The falls have a tourist importance, but they represent an enormous reserve of hydroelectric energy. An international accord between the United States and Canada regulates the division of the waters and the produced energy.
