Terms of Use/Privacy Policy

 

<Chung-ang University Trauma Stress Lab> 'Mind Therapy Application' establishes and discloses the following privacy policy following Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act to protect the information subject's personal information and promptly and smoothly handle grievances related to it.

 

○ This Privacy Policy is effective from September 15, 2021.

 

Article 1 (Purpose of processing personal information)

<Chung-Ang University Trauma Stress Laboratory > 'Mind Therapy Application' processes personal information for the following purposes. The personal information processed will not be used for any purpose other than the following purposes. If the purpose of the use is changed, we will take necessary measures, such as obtaining separate consent following Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

 

1. Homepage membership and management

Personal information is processed to confirm the member's intention to join, maintain and manage membership, prevent unauthorized use of the service, ensure the legal representative's consent when processing personal information of children under the age of 14, and various notices and notifications.

 

2. Handling civil affairs

We process personal information to identify the complainant's identity, verify the complaint, contact and notify the complainant for fact-finding, and inform the result of the processing.

 

3. Provision of goods or services

We process personal information to provide content and age verification.

 

4. Utilization for marketing and advertising

Personal information is processed to verify the service's validity, identify the frequency of access, or statistics on members' use of the service.

 

Article 2 (Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information)

 

1) The Trauma Stress Laboratory of Chung-Ang University shall process and retain personal information within the period of retention and use of personal information following laws and regulations or the period of retention and use of personal information agreed upon when collecting personal information from the information subject.

 

The processing and retention periods of each personal information are as follows.

Personal information related to <Homepage registration and management> shall be retained and used for the above purposes for up to 3 years from the date of consent to collection and use and shall be destroyed immediately.

Article 3 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

 

(1) The Institute for Traumatic Stress Research at Chung-Ang University processes personal information only within the scope specified in Article 1 (Purpose of Processing Personal Information). It provides personal information to third parties only in cases falling under Articles 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act, such as the consent of the information subject and particular provisions of the law.

 

2) The Institute for Trauma Stress Research at Chung-Ang University provides personal information to third parties as follows.

Purpose of using the personal information of the recipient: login ID, gender, date of birth, service use record

Retention of the recipient: 3 years

 

Article 5 (Rights and obligations of the information subject and legal representative and how to exercise them)

 

The information subject may exercise rights such as viewing, correcting, deleting, and requesting suspension of processing of personal information at any time against the Trauma Stress Research Center of Chung-Ang University.

 

[SH1]  The exercise of the rights under Paragraph (1) may be made in writing, e-mail, or facsimile transmission (FAX) to the Chung-Ang University Trauma Stress Research Center following Article 41 (1) of the Enforcement Decree of the 「Personal Information Protection Act」, and the Chung-Ang University Trauma Stress Research Center will take action without delay.

 

③ The exercise of the rights under Paragraph (1) may be made through an agent, such as the legal representative of the information subject or a person who has been delegated. In this case, a power of attorney following the form of Attachment No. 11 to the "Notification on Personal Information Processing Method (No. 2020-7)" must be submitted.

 

④ Requests for access to personal information and suspension of processing may restrict the rights of the information subject according to Article 35 (4) and Article 37 (2) of the Personal Information Protection Act.

 

⑤ A request for correction and deletion of personal information cannot be made if the personal information is specified as the subject of collection in other laws and regulations.

 

⑥ Chung-Ang University Traumatic Stress Research Center shall verify whether the person requesting access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing following the rights of the information subject is the person or their legitimate representative.

 

Article 6 (List of personal information items processed)

 

The < Trauma Stress Research Center, Chung-Ang University> processes the following personal information items.

Article 7 (Destruction of Personal Information)

 

① < Chung-Ang University Trauma Stress Laboratory > destroys personal information without delay when it becomes unnecessary, such as the elapse of the personal information retention period or the achievement of the purpose of processing.

 

② If the personal information retention period agreed to by the information subject has elapsed or the purpose of processing has been achieved. However, the personal information must continue to be preserved following other laws and regulations, the personal information shall be transferred to a separate database (DB) or kept in a different storage location.

③ The procedures and methods for destroying personal information are as follows.

The < Chung-Ang University Trauma Stress Lab> selects the personal information for which the reason for destruction has occurred and destroys the personal information with the approval of the personal information protection officer of the < Chung-Ang University Trauma Stress Lab>.

Personal information printed on paper shall be destroyed by shredding or incineration.

 

Article 8 (Measures to ensure the safety of personal information)

<[SH2]  The Institute for Traumatic Stress Research at Chung-Ang University takes the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information.

 

1. Conducting regular self-audits

To ensure the stability of personal information handling, we conduct self-audits regularly (once a quarter).

 

2. Minimization and training of employees handling personal information

We implement measures to manage personal information by designating and minimizing the number of employees who handle personal information.

 

3. Establishment and implementation of the internal management plan

We establish and implement an internal management plan to safely handle personal information.

 

4. Technical measures against hacking, etc.

To prevent leakage and damage of personal information due to hacking or computer viruses, <Chung-Ang University Trauma Stress Lab> ('Mind Therapy Application') installs security programs, periodically updates and inspects them, installs systems in areas with controlled access from the outside, and monitors and blocks them technically and physically.

 

5. Encryption of personal information

The user's personal information is stored and managed by encrypting the password, so only the user can know it. For essential data, separate security functions are used, such as encrypting file and transmission data or using the file lock function.

 

6. Retention of access records and prevention of falsification

We keep and manage records of access to the personal information processing system for at least one year. However, if we add personal information about 50,000 or more information subjects or process uniquely identifiable or sensitive information, we keep and manage it for at least two years.

In addition, we use security functions to prevent access records from being falsified, stolen, or lost.

 

7. Restriction of access to personal information

We take necessary measures to control access to personal information by granting, changing, and canceling access rights to the database system that processes personal information. We also control unauthorized access from the outside using an intrusion prevention system.

 

8. Use of locks for document security

Documents containing personal information, auxiliary storage media, etc. are stored in a safe place with a lock.

 

9. Access control for unauthorized persons

We set aside a separate physical storage location for personal information and establish and operate access control procedures.

 

Article 10 (Personal Information Protection Officer)

 

(1) Chung-Ang University Trauma Stress Lab is responsible for the general processing of personal information. It designates a personal information protection officer to handle complaints and damage relief of information subjects related to the processing of personal information.

The information subject may contact the domestic agent of the Institute for Traumatic Stress Research, designated according to Article 39(11) of the Personal Information Protection Act, to handle grievances related to personal information. The < Chung-Ang University Trauma Stress Research Center> will endeavor to promptly handle the tasks of the personal information protection officer, including handling grievances related to the personal information of the information subject.

Article 14 (Request for access to personal information)

The information subject may request access to personal information according to Article 35 of the Personal Information Protection Act to the following departments.

Article 15 (Remedies for infringement of rights and interests)

The information subject may apply for dispute resolution or consultation with the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee or the Personal Information Infringement Reporting Center of the Korea Internet and Security Agency to receive relief due to personal information infringement. "A person whose rights or interests have been infringed upon by a disposition or omission made by the head of a public institution in response to a request according to the provisions of Article 35 (Access to Personal Information), Article 36 (Correction or Deletion of Personal Information), or Article 37 (Suspension of Processing of Personal Information) of the Personal Information Protection Act may file an administrative appeal as provided in the Administrative Appeals Act.

Article 17 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

 

This Privacy Policy is effective as of September 15, 2021.

Copyright Protection Policy

Article 13 (Attribution of Copyrights, etc.)

① Copyrights and other intellectual property rights in the contents of the services produced by the Institute shall belong to the Institute.

② The User shall not use or cause others to use for commercial purposes any information obtained by using the services provided by the Institute, the intellectual property rights of which are vested in the Institute or the provider, by methods such as reproduction and transmission (including editing, publication, performance, distribution, broadcasting, and creation of secondary works, etc.

③ If a user's post contains content that violates relevant laws, such as the Information and Communications Network Act and the Copyright Act, the right holder may request the suspension or deletion of the post following the procedures prescribed by relevant laws and the User shall bear all civil and criminal liability arising from there, and the research center shall take measures following applicable laws.

④ Even if there is no request from the administrator according to the preceding paragraph, the research center may take temporary measures against such posts following relevant laws if there are reasons to recognize infringement of rights or other violations of the research center's policies and applicable laws.

⑤ This Article shall be valid while the Lab operates the service and shall continue to apply even after the User withdraws from the service.

 

Article 14 (User Grievance and Dispute Resolution)

The laboratory shall provide information on how to present opinions or complaints to the User in consideration of the User's convenience on the contact form in the service or on the screen connected to it.

Suppose the opinions or complaints raised by the User are objectively recognized as justified. In that case, the laboratory will notify the User of the reason for the extended period and the processing schedule in the service or inform following Article 8.

 

Article 15 (Jurisdiction and Governing Law) These Terms shall be governed and interpreted following the laws of the Republic of Korea. If a lawsuit is filed due to a dispute between the laboratory and the User, the court shall be the competent court in accordance with the procedures prescribed by law.
