While the concept of “Soundscape” was notably coined in the context of environmental activism by composer and educator R. Murray Schafer, the idea of "Transnational Soundscapes" put together in this symposium seeks to investigate music, sound, and radio waves, that travel throughout vast territories traditionally occupied by the prevalence of studies on the printed text and visual culture. This event investigates how sonic ecologies surpass imaginary lines, bleeding beyond national borders and cultural differences.
