Previous: Posture 2. Begin Taiji
Posture 3. Step Up to Press
(1) [Continuing] from the previous movement, slowly inhale. Continue to twist the upper body approximately 45 degrees towards the right and shift the weight to sit on the right leg. While the body turns, both palms follow [the movement], with the center of the right hand flipping outward at about shoulder level and the center of the left hand flipping inward at about eye level, [ending with] both palms are doing rollback [lǚ] to the upper right. Face the southwest and look at the left palm as in Figure 6.
[Note: There is no unicode font character for lǚ (roll back). It is a composite of扌and 履.]

(2) [Continuing] from the previous movement, relax the waist and slowly sink the Qi. Sit solidly on the right leg, and take one [empty] step forward with the left foot. Slice the left forearm down in front of the chest, and use the root of the right hand's fingers to support [i.e., brace] at the inside of the left wrist. After that, begin to push through the right leg to end in a left bow stance [gong-bu] and do a press [jǐ] forward. The center of the left hand is facing inward with energy [concentrated] at the end of the index finger, while the root of the right hand's fingers is sending energy forward. At the same time, push through the crown of the head and settle down into the waist. Sink the Qi to the dan-tian, and then pass [the Qi] into the two palms. Face south and look at the left palm, as in Figure 7.
[Note: Although the instructions don't say to exhale, I assume that the exhale happens whenever it says to "sink the Qi".]
