The main goal is to explore the importance of machine translation (MT) for financial applications by enabling multilingual processing and analysis of financial documents and communications. This includes discussing the current challenges of MT in finance and assessing the performance of translation models in the era of Large Language Models (LLMs).
Our objectives are:
Provide an introductory background on Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for translation.
Examine how AI and MT have been used in the financial domain, including datasets, models, privacy considerations, and the challenges faced.
Create a new venue for discussing new and useful applications of generative AI systems in the financial domain within a multilingual scope.
The tutorial will be co-located with the 2024 ACM International Conference on AI in Finance (ICAIF'24).
