Transit Nap ("the App") is developed by Shiva Acharya ("the Developer"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

A. Location Data
Transit Nap is a location-based alert app. To function correctly, it requires access to your device's location:
* Foreground Location: Used to show your current position on the map and allow you to pick stops.
* Background Location: Used to track your proximity to active stops even when the app is closed or in the background. This is essential for triggering alarms as you approach your destination.
* Data Handling: Your location data is processed locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store your location data on any external servers.
B. Local Storage
We store the following data locally on your device (using SharedPreferences):
* Saved Stops (Name, Latitude, Longitude, Radius, Alert Mode).
* Route Presets.
* Application Settings (Alarm sound preference, battery optimization acknowledgement).
This data remains on your device and is not shared with us or any third party.
2. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services that may collect information:
* Google AdMob: We use AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use certain data (such as device identifiers or approximate location) to serve personalized ads. You can review Google's privacy policy here: https://policies.google.com/privacy
* OpenStreetMap (OSM): Map tiles are fetched from OpenStreetMap. No personal identifier is shared with OSM other than the standard network request required to fetch map tiles for your current view.
3. Data Retention
Since all user data (stops, settings, location history) is stored locally, it is retained only as long as the App is installed. Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data.
4. Security
We value your trust in providing us your information. We strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Children’s Privacy
The App does not specifically target or knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
