I'm a long time Traktor user and owner of a S4 since a couple of years. I would love to use a vintage analog mixer with traktor in upcoming Dj sets. I was looking into the Traktor Audio 2 interface, as I think you need it to convert the digital to an analog signal.

any interface with, at least, 2 stereo outs will work for 2 decks. Or up to 4 stereo outs for 4 decks. And if you want to use traktor FX, your mixer needs then send and return, you need a stereo input and output on top.

I hope to find a decent 'made in Belgium' mixer. We have a small but vivid community here cherishing our vintage brands like Rodec, Stanford, Frank, Marelco. I think it would a nice tribute to use one of these with modern tech.

To use a local brand would be cool, just look for a mixer with 2 channels and a send/return if you want to use it and you will be fine. You can also send some links here to check it out. ohh and sorry the audio interface is called 1820 Behringer | Product | UMC1820 and you dont need necessarily a send and return on the mixer, you can use traktor fx also as inserts like "normal", its just an option. You could even use some fx hardware if you mixer has send and return, many many cool options to fit your style.

So if you want to use a mixer with just 2 channels, how do you then control the decks? You would need to carry a controller too anyway. So maybe you describe again exactly what you want to do and want to reach, then we can help better

Traktor Audio 2 is available second hand on ebay for around 100 bucks. It's awesome in it's simplicity. It's got 2 stereo output, one of which has two control wheels for use as monitor. In the Audio setup you can set one to output the sound from deck A and the other from deck B and route those into your mixer. If you restrict yourself to 2 decks it should be the perfect fit.

In other words, if I like to control 2 channels on the mixer and 1 send/return... Do I look for a soundcard that says 6 outputs? I took a look at the ESI GIGAPORT eX USB-C. Would this fit the bill? (I'm on windows 10 BTW)

To answer the questions about control, I control my decks via a Xone K2. It's a very portable controller that fits with my laptop in a bag (hopefully together with the soundcard), so I'll only have to worry about carrying the mixer in case I like to play on my own mixer. And in some cases I would like to go and play on the mixer at the gig with just the soundcard, laptop and Xone K2.

Yes this will work, you can send up to 4 stereo signals, so you could output up to all 4 decks. And just use FX, as the standard setting is, as insert and it will work. And if the mixer has a send/return you can use it with hardware FX for example but of course you don't have to, the inserts are enough normally.

I have already tried to uninstall then reinstall the DJM900 Nexus driver multiple times and that hasnt worked. The USB cables and sockets work perfectly fine on my other mac which is what's so weird! Traktor on my new mac worked and connected last week and for some reason yesterday it could only connect to DJM900 Nexus (Core Audio) and then would unconnect and traktor would quit unexpectedly. I also uninstalled then reinstalled traktor, reloaded my directory and the issues is still happening :(

So my newer mac that has been updated to Ventura Mac OS is running Traktor 3.8 perfectly fine now and connected to the DJM900 NXS2 mixer, but still not the DJM900 Nexus Mixer because the driver is not available for Ventura yet.

I am also a little concerned that Traktor software is no longer compatible with DJM900 Nexus mixers while running the latest updates because some of the clubs I play at have these mixers and not DJM900 NXS2 mixers.

Yes, I already have all of the drivers installed correctly as I have been a Traktor user for years. My main concern is that Traktor 3.8 is not compatible with Monterey software for some reason when connecting to DJM mixers + CDJS. It is only connecting to the mixer's core audio which then causes Traktor to freak out and unexpectedly quit.

When I was trying to connect to a club's mixer and CDJS in HID mode last weekend, the CDJ 3000s started blinking and glitching out and they had to be completely shut off because of the Traktor software.

I'm looking to buy my dj setup piece by piece - I can do without jogwheels/traktor commands in hardware for now and want to pick up a decent STAND ALONE 4 channel mixer that will work with traktor and its effects.

1.) Can you with any ASIO driver switch the traktor decks to internal playback and hear the tracks?2.) Is the mixer set for routing phono inputs into the interface (refer to user manual) in DVS mode?3.) Post screenshots of each ASIO driver settings (mixers needs to be shown as connected etc)4.) Why are you running the sampling rate at 96khz?

While djay supports any audio interface, mixer, and MIDI controller that is supported on the respective platform, the following DVS-compatible mixers have been pre-mapped and can be used plug-and-p...

Using it with Traktor and analogue at the same time

Of course, nobody is going to buy this to use it simply as a standalone mixer, and the first good thing to say here is that the integration between standalone mixer use and Traktor is absolutely seamless.

If you do decide to go down this route, the Traktor Kontrol Z2 could be a good mixer to choose instead of one of the mixers commonly seen in clubs, because it integrates really nicely with Traktor and the additional controllers available for the software.

I have been using traktor for around 4 years and only really have to use the service centre maybe once a year, twice max. I find it to be a little long to use sometimes, but never to any extreme. TBH, I am a little shocked to read that you would rather use a warezed version.

I really like this mixer, even for a full MIDI dj this is a very nice mixer. The only thing NI is doing with all of their hardware is resell their software packages.

I bought traktor few years ago, I bought an F1 and had to pay again for a traktor license that comes with the HW, if I would buy a Z2 I would pay again for software and timecode stuff that I do not need.

Can you answer the question of whether the T1 is as easy as the Z2, to combine and switch between Analog, HID and Time Code? NI publishes this information very well on their website: -instruments.com/en/products/traktor/dj-mixer/traktor-kontrol-z2/overview/setup-examples/

The Sixty-Four and Sixty-Two are not certified Traktor mixers but that doesn't mean a Traktor user can't reap the benefits of controlling the software directly from them. If you prefer using traditional turntables and/or CD players you will still need to use a Native Instruments sound card but if you are using HID CD players and/or a MIDI controller there is no need for one. Simply plug your computer directly into the Sixty-Four or Sixty-Two and set up the routing options in the preferences of Traktor. Regardless of the sources you use to manipulate Traktor's virtual decks the mapping and instruction provided below will turn your Rane mixer into a badass integrated Traktor controller.

As previously mentioned, if you are using DVS you will still need to use a Native instruments sound card but if you are using HID CD players or MIDI controllers you can route the audio from Traktor directly to the Rane mixer. This will require the use of Core Audio (Mac) or ASIO (PC) drivers that can be downloaded here:

Additional note: Make sure the "User Button Lighting" option is checked within the Sixty-Two's Preference Pane through System Preferences (Mac) or the Control Panel (PC). This will ensure the lights that represent Cues present in Traktor will stay on when the cue is triggered from the mixer.

Mixing and hybrid sets. First, the S8 in particular (even more so than some of its bigger cousins) is an exceptionally flexible mixer. I have to confess to some surprise here. NI could have easily cut corners or left the mixer out altogether. Instead, you get a mixer with more-than-acceptable audio performance and an absurd amount of I/O.

Most clubs that I have been to use a couple of CDJs with a Xone92 or Pioneer mixer. If a vinyl DJ is booked for the night two 1210s are in the booth as well. You could not make yourself more unpopular than by carrying this HUGE console (it is 60cm x 40cm) which still needs a laptop to the club and asking for a space to put it somewhere. I guess that this explains the low resale value. By the way most NI stuff has a terrible resale value once the next generation of controler hardware is released. 2351a5e196
