On January 29, Roblox announced on its DevForum that all Classic Heads and Faces would be removed and replaced with Dynamic Heads in February. According to Roblox, “Classic Heads and Faces are static and do not support the defined cage regions or animation requirements of this policy, nor do they allow for users to express themselves. While we want to empower creators to keep the same look and feel if they’d like, animation is vital in user self-expression.”
Many Roblox YouTubers, including OMB Gaming, said that most players prefer Classic Heads and Faces over Dynamic Heads. They explained that these classic designs have been part of Roblox for many years and are strongly connected to the platform’s identity.
As a result, many players are extremely disappointed and feel sad about having to say goodbye to the iconic Classic Heads and Faces.

After Roblox introduced its age verification system, many roleplay servers began encouraging alternative forms of communication instead of using Roblox chat. These include platforms such as Discord and Roblox voice chat.
The new system has affected all games, especially popular roleplay ones like Brookhaven, Livetopia, and Emergency Response: Liberty County. Many players and creators say these restrictions make it harder for communities to communicate normally.
Several Roblox YouTubers have pointed out major problems with the system, including developers being unable to easily talk to their own players. This has made managing games and events more difficult.
Another issue is that the AI sometimes estimates users’ ages incorrectly. For example, KreekCraft, a well-known Roblox YouTuber, was reportedly placed in the 13–15 age group despite being in his late 20s.

After Roblox faced criticism for failing to protect young users from online predators, many concerned families and lawyers filed lawsuits over serious child safety issues. Well-known lawyers, including Mike Mandell (also known as Law By Mike) and Ugo Lord, joined the case to hold Roblox accountable.
Following the controversy in late 2025, Roblox introduced a new global age verification system in January 2026. Under this system, players must either take a photo of their face or upload official identification. An AI system then estimates their age and places them into an age group.
Players are only able to chat with others in the same age group. Those who do not complete the verification process will be restricted from chatting altogether.
Many Roblox YouTubers, including OMB Gaming and AmazePlays, have shared their opinions on this change. They believe Roblox may adjust or update the feature in the future after receiving strong backlash from the community.

In late March, Roblox removed all Classic Heads and Faces, which had been part of the platform for over 17 years. These were widely preferred by players compared to Dynamic Heads, which were introduced on June 28, 2022.
YouTubers, including OfficerJohn43, gathered opinions from players, and most said they preferred the Classic Heads and Faces. Many players also found the new Dynamic Heads unusual or uncomfortable to use.
Roblox has not announced any plans to bring back Classic Heads and Faces, which has upset a large part of the community.

Two U.S. states, Alabama and West Virginia, have secured settlements worth millions of dollars from Roblox following investigations into child safety failures. Both settlements were announced by the states’ attorneys general in late April.
Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall secured a $12.2 million settlement, stating that the negotiations aimed to introduce structural changes to improve child safety and strengthen parental controls on the platform.
West Virginia Attorney General JB McCuskey announced a similar $11.08 million settlement, noting that the investigation found Roblox’s previous safety measures had exposed young users to risks such as grooming, sexual predators, and violent content.
Despite these multimillion-dollar settlements and investigations, Roblox CEO Dave Baszucki defended the platform in an April interview. He emphasised that Roblox includes safety features “by default,” goes beyond legal requirements, strictly prohibits image sharing, and filters all chat communications.
