Excellent graphics! At first glance, it looks like a AAA train simulator game. It remains to add a control room and an open world map and it will be possible to make long-distance passenger transportation.

In general, in my opinion, this project has a huge gaming potential. Many other storylines and characters can be also introduced into it.

I've closed the MacroWorks 3.1 window, but the RailDriver still isn't working with my other simulator.

MacroWorks 3.1 is not completely turned off when you close the programming window. To shut it down completely, you will need to either right-click on the system tray icon and select 'Exit', or open up the programming window and go to 'File' > 'Exit'. When you do this you will get a box asking you to confirm shutting down the software, and you must choose 'Yes' to completely shut down the software.

This full scope motion simulator was developed and delivered by CORYS in 1999 and has been maintained in operational service through long term maintenance. The new contact will address the software and hardware obsolescence as well as upgrading the driver training technology and visual database to CORYS latest standards.

When I was a kid, we had a family friend that was really, really, really into it. He had probably a 700 sq foot basement that was nothing but model trains. Mountains, towns, you name it. Shelves full of cars, engines, and parts. It's always been fascinating to me... but $$$.

I used to love trains as a kid (i even wanted be a train driver), because i thought things driving on rails was extremely satisfying. I lost interest in them however because of the allmighty spacecraft.

I've driven my wife insane with all the money that I've spent on wooden trains for my kids, but they love it and it gives me something to do together with them. Maybe we'll get into more serious model railroads as they get older, but if I have my way we'll migrate towards model rocketry or RC aircraft.

I still like them a fair bit, but the hype has died down somewhat. When I was living back in Vancouver (Canada) I would practically beg my parents to buy all the groceries from a particular shop. Reason? Well, the entire supermarket had a set of rails suspended from the ceiling, a few meters off the ground. Several different trains would go around, traveling their way across the aisles and occasionally making noises.

Although monotony is widely recognised as being detrimental to performance, its occurrence and effects are not yet well understood. This is despite the fact that task-related characteristics, such as monotony and low task demand, have been shown to contribute to performance decrements over time. Participants completed one of two simulated train-driving scenarios. Both were highly monotonous and differed only in terms of the level of cognitive demand required (i.e. low demand or high demand). These results highlight the seriously detrimental effects of the combination of monotony and low task demands and clearly show that even a relatively minor increase in cognitive demand can mitigate adverse monotony-related effects on performance for extended periods of time. Monotony is an inherent characteristic of transport industries, including rail, aviation and road transport, which can have adverse impact on safety, reliability and efficiency. This study highlights possible strategies for mitigating these adverse effects. Practitioner Summary: This study provides evidence for the importance of cognitive demand in mitigating monotony-related effects on performance. The results have clear implications for the rapid onset of performance deterioration in low demand monotonous tasks and demonstrate that these detrimental performance effects can be overcome with simple solutions, such as making the task more cognitively engaging.

Our train simulator uses the program Trainz 2010, which is customized especially for the Toronto Railway Museum. Museum staff and volunteers built the simulator using real locomotive parts. Similarly, to build the course, our volunteers spent hundreds of hours building digital objects from scratch and incorporating them into the Trainz program. Connect the Canadian will put the visitor in the role of a rail-yard switcher. Firstly, they will be responsible for connecting the cars that make up a passenger train. For instance, the train that you will build is the famous Canadian Pacific Railway train the Canadian. The Canadian was used by the Canadian Pacific Railway for people to travel across Canada, from either Montreal or Toronto out to Vancouver (for more information on this train, click here). Secondly, after connecting the cars together, you will switch to the main locomotive and connect it to the cars, creating a train! Finally, if you are able to connect the train together without crashing, you can drive for the remainder of your time.
