Thank you for visiting this site so Tracy's family can share the special person she was. Tracy was born in Dunedin, Florida in 1972 and moved to the Orlando area as a child. She graduated from Lake Mary High School in 1990 and settled in Winter Park after she graduated from FSU in 1994. She was killed in a vehicular homicide incident in 1996 - shortly after her 24th birthday. Her genuine bright smile could light up any room. Her humorous and loving personality are missed by all that knew her.
We hope you enjoy scrolling below to see a few pictures of Tracy and learning about the history about this dolphin memorial created in her memory.
The Dolphin Memorial Story
Created by artist, Keith Carroll ( from Brevard County) in 2002.
Tracy's father, Ross Rupp, played baseball at Ward Park and drove by this tree stump on many occasions when the idea was born to create something beautiful from it. Ross had heard of an artist that was sculpting trees at a cemetary and tracked him down. The shape of the trees emerging from the stump combined with Tracy's love for boating lent itself perfectly to this idea of the dolphins.
Many have seen Ross working on the maintenance of the sculptures and stopped to ask him about it which inspired this webpage created to share the story. Below are some photos of it's beginnings. Her family is delighted that so many people have shared in the appreciation this memorial.
