The CKC defines tracking as "Tracking is a dog sport where dogs demonstrate their ability to follow a scent trail laid down by a human, finding and indicating any items left along the way." But tracking is so much more...it is team work with both the dog and the handler working together. It creates an amazing bond and trust between dog and handler. It is one of the few dog sports where the dog is in control by utilizing it's amazing olfactory abilities to find scent and following it while the handler follows the dog and reads the body language of the dog.
