Emotional intelligence (EI) plays an essential role in personal development and professional effectiveness within psychology. This page highlights coursework, assessments, and reflections related to emotional awareness, communication skills, self-regulation, empathy, and interpersonal effectiveness.
As I progress through the psychology program, I am developing a deeper understanding of how emotional intelligence influences collaboration, leadership, ethical decision-making, and professional relationships. Strengthening EI supports academic success and responsible practice in diverse and complex environments.
Through continued reflection and application, this section reflects my growth in self-awareness, communication skills, and the ability to engage thoughtfully and respectfully with others.
Through my work in PSY 222, I became more aware of how my own thoughts, reactions, and beliefs can be influenced by the information I take in. Instead of reacting immediately, I’ve learned to slow down, question what I’m seeing, and think more critically. This has helped me grow not only academically, but also personally, by improving how I communicate, reflect, and respond to others in a more thoughtful and grounded way.
