Tim Federle

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Federle was born in California and raised in Pennsylvania. Prior to his writing career, Federle was an actor, dancer and singer. Federle is the author of the Better Nate Than Ever series, with central themes of what it's like to be a theater kid. Federle is also the writer and executive producer of the series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

SHORT STORY: SECRET SAMANTHA

Sam is a sixth-grader coming to terms with her “boyish” looks and interests. She is also dealing with the fact that it is her first Christmas with divorced parents. Sam happens to pick the name of the new girl, Blade, for their class' Secret Santa game. Blade fascinates Sam with her clothes, black-and-white painted nails and cool shoes. She wants to give Blade the perfect gift, but it proves to be a struggle.
