TPED (Theme Park Engineering and Design) is a student-led academic and professional organization to promote and develops careers in the niche field of themed entertainment. We lead several trips, speaker events, professional development events, and social events to help students embark on a career path that will prove successful upon graduation. Most importantly the members of TPED, regardless of the desired career, share one common passion .....
Themed Entertainment!
Themed entertainment includes attractions, parades, escape rooms, costume design, and conceptual design ... just to name a few. The club is comprised of students from all corners of the university. From engineering to business to criminology to visual arts, there's a place for everyone!
Through the help of our connections across the country, we can have our members participate in exclusive theme park tours, travel to industry-specific conferences like ASTM F24 and IAAPA, and participate in design competitions.
Past and present group members have had success in starting careers and obtaining internships within the themed entertainment industry. Companies on that list include
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Universal Parks and Resorts, Universal Creative, Great Coasters International, CAVU Designwerks, and more!
The club would also like to recognize its Virginia Tech affiliates as well as its memberships within national and international professional organizations listed below. TPED would not be where it is today without their support and resources.
