THE TALLAHASSEE POLICE DEPARTMENT PROUDLY PRESENTS
The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) is proud to announce the launch of its new Hometown Heroes video series, highlighting the men and women who serve our community both in and out of uniform.
This five-part series shines a spotlight on officers who were born and raised in Tallahassee, Leon County, and surrounding areas. Each episode explores their journey into law enforcement, the personal experiences that shaped them, and the passion that drives them to protect and serve their hometown.
From the Community, For the Community
In the premiere episode of Hometown Heroes, we sit down with Deputy Chief Maurice Holmes, a proud Tallahassee native whose journey is anything but ordinary. Hear how he became the “reverse black sheep” of his family, the values that shaped his life in service, and why his story is a powerful example of what it means to be a true hometown hero.
Our second episode of Hometown Heroes takes you beyond the badge through the woods and into the world of Officer Priscilla Clark. As the only woman on the Tallahassee Police Department TAC team, she embodies both mental resilience and physical strength, skills sharpened not just on the streets but in the outdoors and through a relentless commitment to fitness. From intense negotiations to tactical operations, this episode offers an inside look at what it takes to stand out in one of the most demanding roles in law enforcement.
Our third episode of Hometown Heroes features Officer Deonte Hutchinson. In this life there will always be a few bad apples, but hope shines when someone takes the bad and turns it into something good. That is the story of Officer Hutchinson. With a family legacy of service and a personal commitment to show up as his best self, he works each day to serve everyone he encounters with integrity and compassion. Because no one person is a hero, it takes all of us.
In this week’s episode of Hometown Heroes, we walk alongside Detective Glover as she navigates the many hats that come with being a detective for the Tallahassee Police Department. From long hours to tough cases, her work is driven by a deep sense of purpose and a desire to help others find justice.
The fulfillment that comes from doing this job is why she and so many others continue to serve. And for Detective Glover, the dream that started years ago while watching her favorite crime shows still fuels her passion today, proving that behind every badge is a story worth telling and a hero worth knowing.
In the final episode of Hometown Heroes, we meet Officer Logan Hinds, a second-generation officer continuing a proud family legacy of service. What started as a simple ride along with his father became the moment that changed his path forever.
Now, as a Field Training Officer and member of the recruitment team, Officer Hinds plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of officers. He understands the dangers of the job and the importance of preparing others to face them with courage, integrity, heart and care. For him, wearing the badge is more than a duty, it is a calling.
