THE 24" GAUGE BETWEEN TRACKS WAS ALSO VERY POPULAR DURING THE HAYDAY OF RAILROADING, (1860-1930). THERE WERE SEVERAL NOTABLE "TWO FOOTERS", AGAIN FOR THE SAME REASONS OF CONSTRUCTION COST AND TIGHT RADIUS CURVES AS THE SLIM LINE 36" USED IN WESTERN USA, HOWEVER MOST WERE LOCATED IN MAINE AND UPSTATE NEW YORK. THERE WAS ONE 24" SLIM LINE IN MASSACHUSETTS. THE BILLERICA TO BEDFORD, BUT IT ONLY LASTED 8 MONTHS.

This is a "C.P.HUNTINGTON" 24 inch gauge Park Ride Train located at the Municipal Zoo in Roswell, New Mexico.
