The Omega Catalogue began as a design project back in 2021 where I challenged myself to make original superhero characters with obvious inspirations.
What began as a simple design project soon spiraled into a massive and immersive world primarily taking place in the early 2000s United States.
The story is told through a series of database files from the S.U.C.T. (The Superpowered Union of Crisis Technicians), a superhero agency tied to the U.S. government.
The Omega Catalogue contains a lot of stories centering around a lot of heroes, though the main storyline revolves around The Omegas.
To fully understand the story, I recommend reading through the database files. I challenge you to piece together the story as it's being written!

Ethnicity: Native American

āBenjamin Grayson, says he likes to go by Ben. The boy says his mom tragically passed during his birth and that pops was a sleaze bag. He spoke fondly of his grandfather, however. Unfortunately, grandpa isn't around either. Cardiac Arrest, he says took the old man's life. That leaves dear old grandma. Charlotte Grayson, or Granny G as we've found those in her neighborhood call her. From the way Benny talks about her... She's less than pleasant to be around. He says she despises him for what his birth did to her daughter (Mom). Apparently the poor boy was an unwanted baby. Unfortunate...Ā
After I asked Ben about his home life, I wanted to get more info on his powers. I've seen a lot of gimmicks in my day but slinkies is a new one. Whoāda thought they'd start turning toys into heroes; I guess I'm used to it being the other way around. He says he was born with them, inherited from his deadbeat pops. The only power we have on file that's similar belongs to a lowlife we took in back in the 90s named āThe Cobraā. I'll have Lee look into it, maybe there's a connection. The boy says he never knew his sperm donor, who knows.
I almost feel bad for the poor boy, I think Lee and I scared him when we were scouting him out. I don't blame him, he's quite the Internet celebrity. Especially after that incident in downtown back in ā06. To think he's been out doing this since he was 17, it's a little crazy to think about. Most agents we bring in are more⦠grown, But he seems to have a good heart. He tells me he fights to make sure deadbeat abusers and assaulters are off the streets, so the boy has my respect on that front.Ā
Lee and I were a little worried at first, he didn't seem all to jazzed about joining up with the agency; He said something about staying close to the ground and looking out for the little guy. I guess the pay changed his mind real quick. I can't blame him for that either, rent and home insurance in DC is only going up. I feel a little responsible for that one too⦠this place is like a superhero playground.
I'm getting off track⦠He's a smart kid, graduated from The School Without Walls top of his class. He says he wants to attend Georgetown University but he can't afford tuition. Thankfully, after he signs his contract that won't be a problem anymore. The boyās got a future. He's smart, he's got good morals, and he seems to enjoy the job.Ā
Ben Grayson, Slinky-Man. I'd like to chat with the boy some more but for now, this is what little info I felt was necessary to gather. He seems to be a good pick for the Bossās little passion project. I think he'll fit right in.ā

āWhen they asked me to interview Mr. Smith, I wasn't sure what to think⦠Agent Lee says he feels more at ease speaking to a pretty lady like me. It's cute but⦠I don't like dating in the workplace. He seems sweet, though. I've never seen someone so⦠perfect looking as him. Maybe it's the super soldier genes.Ā
I met with Mr. Smith earlier today, we had a nice chat in the courtyard over some tea. Sweet tea. He says that's his favourite drink. I guess it makes sense, lost archives claim he's from Georgia. There wasn't much in his old files, so I felt it was necessary to delve into his personal life prior to⦠well, his slumber.
Unfortunately, Mr. Smith says most of his past is a blur. He says thinking about it brings out a certain darkness in him. I wasn't sure what to make of that answer but I figured it would be best not to pryā¦Ā
Mr. Smithās service to this country began in 1931⦠Just a few years before World War 2. He was just 25 when he was enlisted into an experimental military program, Project Roosevelt⦠the first supersoldier experiments. Unfortunately, Mr. Smith was the only survivor; Despite this, he was found to be even more successful than they had projected. He came out perfect just in time for the war. I've come across dozens of old propaganda featuring him, it's almost like he was the nationās mascotā¦
I asked Mr. Smith about his duties during wartime, however it didn't seem like he wanted to talk about it. His old file doesn't say much⦠most of it is censored or locked beyond my privileges. It's almost strange⦠But I do have this list of ātrigger wordsā. I'm not entirely sure if I want to know what it's even aboutā¦
His old file says that the army no longer needed him after World War 2. I also found the blueprints for the cryogenic sleep chamber they found him in⦠Sometimes I wish I didn't drop out of German Language Studies in college. I guess the US harvested a lot of the experimental tech from Germany after the war.
Agent Lee and Agent Kirby say he woke up angry. Agent Lee recalls him rambling about the winds of change⦠Agent Kirby tells me that they managed to get him to calm down after he heard the word Sunshine. Strange⦠Sunshine happens to be one of the words on this list of triggersā¦
There's a lot left to learn about this strange man. He seems so lost, so⦠disoriented. I suppose I can't blame him, I can only imagine how different the world was back then⦠I'd like to meet with Mr. Smith again someday - With Dr. Watts's approval of course⦠Truth be told, I found out time together very pleasant. He seems like a sweet man, I hope we cross paths again.ā

Age: 29, Born 1979
Ethnicity: German
Superpower(s): Techno-Organic Nanotechnology Generation, Technopathy, Energy Manipulation
Recruitment Date: 12/4/1998

Date of Interview: 2/16/1999
Interviewer: Agent Matthew Delanie
āWillow Watts is a heartless broad⦠Yeah I know the boss reads through these but I donāt think I have the capacity to care anymore. I have nothing left to lose. Not my wife, not my sons⦠Gone. Wiped off of this godforsaken Earth like ants on pavement. That woman took everything Iāve ever cared about in a matter of seconds.Ā
December 13th, 1998.
News outlets across the entire east coast flood the media, reporting a horrific scene of destruction and chaos. Ragnarok⦠Thatās what theyād call it after the fact. Everyone at the agency crowded around the television to watch what was going on, it felt like the world was spinning in slow motion as two superpowered titans brawled across the country.
On one side, Willow Watts - Iron-Clad II⦠For a while we had all been told the Dr. Watts invented a new remote-operated Protector Armor. He lied. He had his bratty daughter prancing around in that seven ton metal killing machine. Said he didnāt want the public to know or else it would ruin the brand, something about the investors and stockholders. That PR stunt didnāt last long. Turns out little miss moneybags canāt keep her trap shut for more than 24 hours. I guess Willow canāt keep her temper in check eitherā¦
On the other side, Edwin Reighley - Black Infinity⦠The alien from outer space. To think I used to collect trading cards with this guy on him when I was a kid⦠He fell from grace in the 80s when he was tried for the murders of 6 other heroes. One of which being Nicole Watts - Voltage, Willowās late mother. It was a tough trial, one of the most famous cases in superhuman history. Needless to say, he was acquitted with the defense of brainwashing claims.
Turns out⦠at least according to Little Miss Oppenheimer, those brainwashing claims were lies. It still doesnāt excuse her recklessness. All of the death⦠the destruction. Thousands of families across America lost someone that day. Mothers, fathers, sons, daughters⦠Half of the midwest gone in a flash. It happened in seconds, no one new how to react. The world stood still as the bomb decimated everything in itās radius. Sure there were survivors, but the survivors hardly outweigh the number of deaths.
All those deaths and the President still pardoned the bitch⦠How, Iāll never know. Those pencilnecks from HR thought they were real funny tasking me with interviewing her, I can only imagine the smug look on their damn faces.Ā
When I asked her why she did it, she had only one thing to say. āI couldnāt let anyone else lose their motherā¦ā Words canāt describe the overwhelming feeling of anger that overcame me when she uttered that pitiful excuse. What about the mother of my sons? All three of them lost their lives. All because of her. I damn near backhanded the little redheaded broad for coughing up such a sad excuse, I mean are you serious? How could you be so blind to all of the chaos happening in the world around you that all you can think about is your mommyās murder from over a decade ago.
I donāt even know why Iām writing this, itās not like itāll matter in an hour. Whoever finds this, Iām sorry theyāre forcing you into silence about this nightmare. Iāve got nothing left to lose and Iāve only got one thing left that can bring me even the slightest ounce of salvation⦠The bullet in my gun. Carter, M.J., Rebecca⦠Iāll see you soon.ā

Age: 34, Born 1974

Recruitment Date: 8/19/1994

Date of Interview: 1/21/1995
Interviewer: Captain Bram Van Helsing
āI took Andrew in when he was just a little boy, it was his ninth birthday when those bloodsucking bastards claimed that entire town. I was just settling down for brunch with the wife when I got the call. Normally, theyād just send your average monster hunter out to handle small vampire attacks but this one seemed different. The desperation in the dispatcherās voice told all. This wasnāt any average vampire attack, this was a massacre. I took off before the bacon even got off the skillet and before I knew it my crew and my I were off to Renfield, Kentucky. A long way from Washington, D.C. but hey, duty calls.
Unfortunately, by the time we arrived in Renfield, it was already too late⦠The reeking smell of blood filled the air and bodies were everywhere. The whole damn place was a mess. My crew and I searched the wreckage for what seemed like hours, we found nothing but corpses and rubble. Truth be told, it had to be the worst attack Iāve seen in my entire time in the department.Ā
After the first three hours, I was ready to clean up and go home. I had almost declared the entire site a lost cause until I felt my gut tell me to do one last search. My gut never lies, so I followed it. I followed it all the way to a collapsed house. I remember the scene like it was yesterday⦠On the corner of Sesame Ave. and Stokerās Way, a little blue house⦠It took my crew and I thirty minutes to clear the rubble. Thatās when I found him, Andrew Lincoln. He was curled up in a blood soaked blanket, crying as he rocked back and forth. It was like in that moment the world around me stopped. I held him in my arms as we walked back to the cruiser, we tried to ask him questions but he wouldnāt budge. Hell, he hardly said a word even when we got back to D.C.
The doctors took a good look at him, turns out one of those bastards back in Renfield took a bite out of him. A Daywalker is what we call them in Cryptid Control, itās a term we use to describe vampire/human hybrids. Theyāre dangerous sons of bitches, Iāll tell you. Theyāve got all the powers with half the weaknesses.
Needless to say⦠Alice and I adopted him. He had no family, not after the attack. Iād never really aspired to have children but Alice was ecstatic about it. They always said raising a kid would be hard, but raising a half vampire kid is harder⦠Thankfully, Iāve been trained in handling at least one half of the boy. Despite our differences, I started to love Andrew as if he were my real son.Ā
I began training him when he turned sixteen, teaching him not to suppress his vampiric blood but to embrace it. I knew that if I trained him just right, he would turn into the finest hunter Cryptid Control has ever seen. Now, it may have been wrong to train my son on how to become an unstoppable monster killer, but Iāll be damned if it didnāt work. Four years later, I helped him get his first job at the S.U.C.T. in Cryptid Control. Unfortunately despite my position as Captain, the other agents werenāt as kind to a halfling like him as I was. He often vented to me about the discrimination he faced on the job, though I brushed it off as simple teasing.Ā
Things took a turn when they thought it would be funny to dump buckets of pig blood on my son⦠Dr. Watts said heād never seen me so angry. Despite being head of Cryptid Control I harbor no ill will towards cryptids, but itās my job to appropriately handle the ones who decide to cause trouble. After that day, none of those agents gave Andrew any more trouble. It was around the same time when he started using the moniker āThe Monster Hunterā, Iāll be honest it wasnāt the most clever of names but it fit him well.
Safe to say, Iām proud of my son. Heās top of the kill count and has grown to be one of the most feared agents in the entire department. I think one day heāll outrank me and make his pops even more proudā¦ā
