After an eventful few months, filled with sulfur leaks, blizzards, and winter balls, semester one has come to an end. On January 22, semester two officially began, marking the halfway point of the school year. Lunches will change, electives will switch, and the weather will get warmer. So, let’s take a trip down memory lane, and revisit this past semester, as well as highlighting some important things to look for in the upcoming quarters.
September
The school year began in full swing, as the class of 2027 joined the school. Despite absurd heat, and even a half day because of extreme temperatures, we pushed through! Colonial Way and other home football games defined this month, and it symbolized a fresh start for students and educators in the new school year.
October
Things started settling in, and thankfully, there was much cooler weather. Fall spirit week took place, leaving Seniors in 1st place, Juniors in 2nd, Sophomores in 3rd, and Freshmen in last. Seniors had their class cookout, the fall concert enchanted the audience, and fall sports season came to an end.
November
¼ of the way done with the school year! Quarter 1 came to an end at the beginning of this month. The fall play, Murder on The Orient Express, left their audience baffled kand at the edges of their seats. Thanksgiving break closed out one of the shortest months of the academic year.
December
December 1st marked the Christmas season! The first snowfall shocked all of us, and left us wanting more (well, we have it now). Winter sports started, as basketball, hockey, and track competed with other schools. The winter concert, featuring more ensembles than the fall’s, was astonishing. We were all in a merry mood, as the holidays were so, so close.
January
Work started piling up, as semester one came to an end. The Winter Ball approached, leaving students with a fun and mesmerizing experience!
The new semester is upon us, which unfortunately, also means finals and schedule changes are, too. Navigating these changes is demanding, but it is crucial to remember that stress doesn’t enhance productivity. Through time management, prioritizing self care, asking for help, and taking breaks, you can maintain a composed and balanced approach till the school year ends.
With that… goodbye, semester one and welcome, semester two!
