For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, LarkTemple is responsible for decisions about how personal data is used in TowerTree.
TowerTree is a single-player mobile game for a general audience. It is designed for players aged 13 and over and is not directed to children under 13.
TowerTree does not require an account and does not ask players to provide a name, email address or precise location.
TowerTree uses:
Optional gameplay analytics and crash reporting through Google Firebase.
Google AdMob to provide rewarded advertisements that players may choose to view. For eligible players aged 13 or over, advertising services may initialise and load advertisement inventory even when the player does not choose to view an advertisement.
Google’s User Messaging Platform (“UMP”) to present and remember advertising privacy choices where required.
A local age check to apply appropriate privacy and advertising protections.
Gameplay analytics and crash reporting are disabled by default and can only be enabled by players aged 16 or over.
Advertising privacy choices are managed separately. Personalized advertising is disabled for players under 18.
TowerTree asks for a birth month and year so that it can apply appropriate privacy and advertising settings.
The age check is used only to apply privacy and advertising protections. It does not restrict access to the game based on age.
The entered birth month and year are processed on the device. TowerTree converts them into an age category and does not send the entered information to LarkTemple, Firebase or AdMob.
TowerTree may store an age category and a future age-review date on the device. When requesting an advertisement, TowerTree may send Google an age-treatment signal classified by Google as Child, Teen or Unspecified. This signal is used to apply advertising protections.
Players can correct their age information through Settings.
TowerTree stores information locally so that the game can function, including:
Game progress and completed levels.
Lives, gems, achievements and gameplay records.
Audio and other game settings.
An age category and age-review information.
Analytics and advertising privacy choices.
This information normally remains on the device. The operating system may back up application data according to the player’s Android and Google account settings.
Local information normally remains until the relevant setting is reset, the application’s data is cleared or the game is uninstalled.
Players aged 16 or over can choose whether to enable Google Analytics for Firebase.
If enabled, information sent may include:
A pseudonymous installation identifier.
Device, operating-system and application information.
App launches and gameplay sessions.
The game mode and level played.
Whether a level was completed or lost.
The height or progress reached in a level.
General country or regional information estimated from the internet connection.
Technical timestamps and diagnostic information generated by Firebase.
TowerTree uses this information to understand level difficulty, identify gameplay problems and improve the game.
TowerTree does not deliberately send names, email addresses, messages, contacts or precise GPS location through its gameplay analytics events.
TowerTree’s Firebase settings retain user-level event and user data for two months. Google’s standard aggregated reporting is not necessarily affected by this setting, and aggregated statistics may be retained for longer.
Players aged 16 or over can choose whether to enable Firebase Crashlytics.
Crash reports may include:
Crash stack traces and technical error details.
Application and operating-system versions.
Device model and technical state.
Pseudonymous Firebase and Crashlytics installation identifiers.
Diagnostic logs and gameplay events associated with a crash.
This information is used to diagnose crashes, freezes and other technical problems.
Firebase states that Crashlytics retains crash stack traces, associated identifiers and related crash data for 90 days before beginning removal from its live and backup systems.
When crash reporting is disabled, the Firebase SDK may retain crash information locally. If crash reporting is subsequently enabled, previously stored crash information may be sent to Firebase.
Analytics and crash reporting are disabled by default and can only be enabled by players aged 16 or over.
Eligible players can enable or disable them through TowerTree’s Settings. Declining does not restrict the game.
Players under 16 cannot enable gameplay analytics or crash reporting.
If a previous choice is withdrawn:
TowerTree stops sending new gameplay analytics.
TowerTree resets its Analytics identifier.
Crashlytics collection is disabled.
TowerTree may close so that the Crashlytics change can take full effect.
Withdrawing consent stops future collection but does not automatically erase information already processed by Google. Players may contact LarkTemple regarding deletion or other data-rights requests.
TowerTree offers optional rewarded advertisements through Google AdMob. For example, a player may choose to watch an advertisement in exchange for restoring lives.
Players can decline a rewarded advertisement and use another available game option, such as meditation.
Viewing a rewarded advertisement is optional. However, for players aged 13 or over, after any required advertising privacy step, TowerTree initialises Google Mobile Ads and may request and load rewarded-ad inventory when the game starts. TowerTree does not currently provide a global setting that disables this advertising-service processing.
Players identified as under 13 are not offered rewarded advertisements. They can still use all core game features.
For players aged 13–15, TowerTree applies Google’s child or under-age advertising treatment. Personalized advertising and remarketing are disabled, and only eligible age-restricted advertisements may be requested.
For players aged 16–17, TowerTree applies Google’s teen advertising treatment. Personalized advertising is disabled and sensitive advertising categories are restricted.
For every player aged 13 or over, TowerTree uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to determine whether an advertising privacy message or choice is required. This includes players aged 13–15, 16–17 and 18 or over. A privacy form is displayed only when Google determines that one is available or required. Players identified as under 13 do not initialise Google Mobile Ads and are not shown this advertising consent flow.
Google may serve personalized, non-personalized or limited advertisements, or may determine that no advertisement can be requested, depending on the player’s age category, location, applicable law and privacy choices.
The availability of a rewarded advertisement is not guaranteed.
When AdMob or UMP is used, Google and advertising providers identified in Google’s privacy message may process information including:
An age-treatment category.
An IP address, which may indicate a general location.
Device and application information.
Advertising identifiers, app-set identifiers or other device identifiers where permitted.
Advertisement requests, impressions, views, clicks and completed rewarded advertisements.
Interaction, security, fraud-prevention and diagnostic information.
Advertising consent and privacy choices.
TowerTree does not request or access your device’s precise location. Google and its advertising partners may infer an approximate location from your internet connection.
Personalized advertisements may use previous activity, interests or other information to select advertisements.
Non-personalized and limited advertisements do not use previous activity to personalize advertisements. Google may still process limited technical information to deliver an advertisement, measure its completion, prevent fraud and maintain security.
Available advertising choices can be reviewed through Settings → Ad privacy choices.
More information:
Where UK or European data-protection law applies, TowerTree relies on:
Consent for optional Firebase gameplay analytics and crash reporting.
Consent for personalized advertising and access to information stored on a device where consent is legally required.
Legitimate interests or the delivery of a service requested by the player, where legally permitted, for limited technical processing needed to deliver a rewarded advertisement, measure its completion—for example, to grant lives—maintain security and prevent fraud.
Legal obligations where information must be processed or disclosed to comply with applicable law.
Consent can be withdrawn through TowerTree’s Settings. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Information may be processed by:
Google LLC and its affiliates through Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, AdMob and UMP.
Advertising technology providers identified in Google’s advertising privacy message.
Technical service providers acting under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
Regulators, courts or public authorities where disclosure is legally required.
LarkTemple does not directly sell personal information for money.
Personalized advertising may be treated as “sharing,” “targeted advertising” or a “sale” under some regional laws even where no money changes hands. Where applicable, Google’s advertising privacy controls allow players to manage that processing.
Google and its service providers may process information outside the country where a player lives, including in the United States.
Where required, Google states that it uses recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension and Standard Contractual Clauses.
See Google’s data-transfer frameworks for further information.
Depending on where a player lives, they may have rights to:
Request access to personal data.
Request correction or deletion.
Restrict or object to processing.
Receive certain data in a portable form.
Withdraw consent.
Complain to a data-protection authority.
TowerTree does not maintain player accounts. Firebase and advertising information is generally associated with pseudonymous installation or device identifiers rather than names or email addresses. This may limit LarkTemple’s ability to identify a particular record without additional technical information.
To make a request, contact larktemple@gmail.com.
Deletion requests
To request deletion, email larktemple@gmail.com. LarkTemple will respond without undue delay and ordinarily within one month.
TowerTree does not maintain player accounts. Firebase and advertising information is generally associated with pseudonymous installation or device identifiers, so LarkTemple may be unable to identify particular records from an email address alone. LarkTemple will delete identifiable personal data under its control and, where technically available, request deletion through the relevant service provider.
Local game data can normally be removed by clearing TowerTree’s application data or uninstalling the game. Aggregated or anonymised information, information required for legal, security or fraud-prevention purposes, and information remaining temporarily in provider backup systems may be retained. Google-controlled information is also subject to Google’s documented retention and deletion processes.
Players can also manage advertising choices through TowerTree’s Settings and their Google account or Android advertising settings.
UK residents may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. EEA residents may contact the data-protection authority in their country.
TowerTree is designed for players aged 13 and over and is not directed to children under 13.
Players identified as under 13 can continue playing and can use all core game features, but optional Firebase data sharing and rewarded advertising are unavailable.
Optional gameplay analytics and crash reporting cannot be enabled by players under 16.
Advertising requests for players under 18 receive age-restricted treatment. Personalized advertising is disabled, and the advertisements available may be more limited.
The birth month and year entered during the age check are processed on the device and are not sent to LarkTemple or Google. Only the appropriate advertising age-treatment signal may be sent to Google.
TowerTree uses established third-party services and reasonable technical measures to protect information. Data transmitted by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit.
However, no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
This privacy-policy page is hosted through Google Sites.
Google may receive ordinary technical connection information when the page is visited, such as an IP address and browser information, under the Google Privacy Policy.
This policy may be updated when TowerTree’s features, service providers or legal requirements change.
The latest version will be published at this address with an updated revision date.
