## Getting Started
### Quick Start Guide
1. Add Players: Tap the "Players" tab to add players to your roster
2. Set Tournament Settings:
- Choose Singles or Doubles
- Set number of courts (1-10)
- Select pairing mode (Unique or Fixed Partners)
3. Start Tournament: Return to Tournament tab and tap "Start Tournament"
4. Enter Scores: Tap on each match to enter scores
5. Complete Rounds: Use "Complete Round" to move to the next round

### General Questions
**Q: What sports can I use this app for?**
A: The app is designed for racquet and paddle sports including pickleball, tennis, badminton, squash, and paddle tennis.
**Q: Is an internet connection required?**
A: No. Running a tournament works fully offline, and your data is stored on your device. Only the optional live link needs an internet connection.
**Q: Do you collect any user data?**
A: We don't collect your players or tournaments. They're stored on your device. The app sends anonymous usage analytics, and if you choose to share a live link, that tournament is uploaded so others can follow it. See the Privacy Policy below for full details.
### Tournament Management
**Q: How many players can I add to a tournament?**
A: There's no strict limit, but you need:
- Singles: Minimum 2 players
- Doubles: Minimum 4 players
**Q: What's the difference between Unique and Fixed Partners?**
A:
- Unique Partners: Players are randomly paired with different partners each round
- Fixed Partners: Players keep the same partner throughout the tournament
**Q: How do I handle players arriving late or leaving early?**
A: Use the Players tab to toggle players' active status. The app will automatically adjust matches accordingly.
### Scoring & Results
**Q: How do I enter match scores?**
A: Tap on any active match to open the score entry screen. Enter scores for each set and select the winner.
**Q: Where can I find tournament history?**
A: The History tab shows all completed tournaments with detailed statistics and match results.
### Common Issues
**Q: The app shows "Not enough active players"**
A: Ensure you have:
- Singles: At least 2 active players
- Doubles: At least 4 active players
**Q: Players are sitting out too often**
A: The app tries to distribute sitting out evenly. Having more courts or fewer players will reduce sitting out frequency.
**Q: Match scores aren't saving**
A: Make sure to:
1. Enter scores for all sets
2. Select a winner
3. Tap "Save" to confirm

## Privacy Policy

Tournament Generator is made by Jacob Dale-Rourke. This policy explains what data the app and its website handle.
### Data stored on your device
Players, clubs, tournaments, results, seasons and settings are stored on your device. There are no accounts and no cloud sync. Pro users can export a backup file, which stays under their control. Deleting the app deletes this data.
### Live links (only when you choose to share)
If you tap Live and start sharing, the following is uploaded to our live-link service (hosted by Cloudflare) so anyone with the link can view it: the tournament title (sport and format), player names exactly as you typed them, current and recent matches, scores, who is sitting out, upcoming matches and the table. Nothing is uploaded until you start sharing. The page and its data are deleted when you tap Stop sharing, or automatically 48 hours after the last update, 7 days after the tournament finishes, or 90 days after the last update for Pro users who choose Keep this link. Live pages aren't listed in search engines, and viewers can only view them. If you run a tournament with children, consider using first names only before sharing a live link.
### Analytics
The app sends anonymous usage events (for example "demo started" or "results shared") to our own analytics service. Events include a random install ID created by the app (not Apple's advertising identifier), device model, iOS version, language, region, time zone and app version, and an Apple Search Ads attribution token so we can measure which ads work. We don't use the advertising identifier (IDFA), don't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and don't sell data.
### Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to report on purchases and subscriptions (purchase history, linked to an anonymous app user ID). We never see your payment details.
### Contact form
If you send a message from the app or the website, it is delivered to us through Formspree. It includes your name and email address only if you choose to give them.
### Third-party services

### Children
The app isn't aimed at children and doesn't knowingly collect children's personal data.

- Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the app
- Use the app for commercial purposes without permission
- Copy or distribute the app outside the App Store
- Remove any proprietary notices

The app is provided "as is" without warranty. We are not responsible for:

- Tournament outcomes
- Decisions made based on app results

We reserve the right to terminate access for violations of these terms.
