Privacy Policy for Touch Key Mapper
This Privacy Policy explains how the Touch Key Mapper Android app ("the app", "we", "us") handles information.
1. What the app does
Touch Key Mapper lets you map keys from an external keyboard or gamepad to on-screen touch points, create shortcuts and macros for hardware buttons, and test key input. Touch input is injected on your own device through Android's Wireless debugging (ADB) connection, which you enable and pair yourself.
2. Information stored on your device
The following information is created by you and stored locally on your device only. It is not uploaded to our servers:
- Mapping profiles: profile names, icons, on-screen button positions and the keys assigned to them.
- Shortcuts and macros: names, trigger keys, press types, actions, conditions and optional quick chat text.
- App settings: language, theme, dark mode, haptic feedback and onboarding status.
- A locally generated key pair used only to authenticate the app with your device's own Wireless debugging service.
Key events from connected keyboards, gamepads and hardware buttons are processed in real time on your device to trigger mappings, shortcuts and the Key Tester. They are not recorded to a server. The Key Tester event log is kept in memory and is cleared when you reset it or close the app.
Profile export and import use files that you choose through the Android file picker. Exported files stay wherever you save them.
The "Copy quick chat text" action places text you configured onto the device clipboard only when you trigger it.
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos, location or microphone.
3. Permissions used by the app
- Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): shows the on-screen mapping controls over games and other apps.
- Foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE): keeps the overlay and the Wireless debugging pairing process running while you use them, with a visible notification.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): shows the overlay status and the pairing notification where you enter the pairing code.
- Internet, network state and Wi-Fi state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE): discovers and connects to your own device's Wireless debugging service on the local network, and allows the third-party services listed below to work.
- Vibrate (VIBRATE): provides optional haptic feedback.
- Flashlight: the optional "Toggle flashlight" action switches the camera torch on or off. The app does not take photos or videos.
4. Third-party services
The app uses the following third-party services. These services may collect and process information such as device identifiers (for example the advertising ID), IP address, device and app information, app usage and interaction data, and diagnostic information, according to their own privacy policies.
- Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK): displays advertisements. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your consent choices and region.

- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP): requests and stores your advertising consent choices where required (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland).

- Google Analytics for Firebase: measures app usage, such as screens viewed and events, to help us improve the app.
- Firebase Crashlytics: collects crash reports and diagnostic information to help us fix stability problems.
- Firebase Remote Config: retrieves app configuration, such as advertising settings, from Google servers.

We do not sell your personal information.
5. How information is used
Information processed by the app and the services above is used to:
- Provide the app's key mapping, shortcut and key testing features.
- Display advertisements and manage advertising consent.
- Understand app usage and fix crashes and errors.
- Configure app features and advertising remotely.
6. Your choices
- You can change your advertising consent choices where the consent form is available in the app.
- You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on your device).
- You can revoke permissions at any time in Android Settings.
- You can turn off Wireless debugging at any time in Android Developer options.
7. Data retention and deletion
Profiles, shortcuts and settings remain on your device until you delete them in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored data, except files you exported yourself.
Data collected by Google services is retained according to Google's policies and the retention settings of the services above. To request deletion of data associated with your use of the app, contact us at [CONTACT_EMAIL_REQUIRED].
8. Data security
Local data is stored in the app's private storage on your device. Connections made by the Google services listed above use encryption in transit as provided by those services. The Wireless debugging connection is made only to your own device. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
