Yes, the game will be free for Meta Quest devices. If it ever comes to PCVR publicly, it will be $10 (USD).
Most likely. If the game goes good on standalone VR (Meta Quest devices), we may plan for a PCVR release. If we ever do plan on getting ready for a PCVR release, it will:
1. Be privately tested with trusted users first.
2. Have really strict rules.
3. Only be released on the Meta Rift store before a Steam VR release. (This is because it costs $100 USD to publish a game onto Steam, there is also a fee for registering as a developer on Steam.)
We are not trying to purposefully copy any other game. Some features of the game that copy other games are almost completely accidental (and some of these features were decided way before we have played some of the games that we seem to be copying). The movement system is used in many other games, this does not mean we are also trying to directly copy Gorilla Tag, as the movement for that game is open source and was actually based on another game that had existed before.
Toads of Trees is available on Meta Quest 2, 3, and 3S. There is also support for Meta Quest Pro. Meta Quest 1 support is unknown as the game uses modern features and functions and most Meta Quest 1 service support (such as making games for the Meta Quest 1) is almost completely discontinued. If you have a Meta Quest 1 and want to play Toads of Trees, please upgrade to a newer and more supported headset. The game may also be compatible on PCVR headsets, but we plan on releasing PCVR support way into the future.
