TL;DR: If you're stuck on 'Searching for Remote' on a Toshiba Fire TV, hardwire the TV into your wireless router temporarily. The phone app will be able to see the TV, and allow you to complete the setup and get it onto your Wifi so your phone can act as the remote control instead.

Back-story: Bought an open-box deal on a Toshiba Fire TV, didn't realize the remote was proprietary and not included. Back to the internet, order the remote advertised on the TV product page, wait 2 days for shipping, remote comes today. Wrong remote, confirms helpful Toshiba rep after some troubleshooting.

Now I'm pissed, everywhere that carries the correct replacement remote can't get them to me for 3-7 days, and I just want to kill some zombies. I can get to the 'Searching for Remote' screen, and no further no matter what I try.

Edited to Add: Following those steps will also allow a generic remote to then be used as well. Occasionally on a hard reboot for power-loss, the TV will then try and resync to the 'missing' remote but the error seems to go away if you turn the TV on/off again.

You said "multiple pairing codes." That's confusing to me, because you don't enter codes on a Roku remote. There is an interface via the Roku menu to configure (not pair) but there is still no code to enter.

Thanks for the response. What I meant by multiple codes is that I had read somewhere else in the community to try and not pick the first option when the music stops playing when trying to pair the remote.

If you try the first one, and the sound goes away, but the power doesn't work as expected, you start again. When the sound goes away, use the TVs remote to turn the sound back on before you tell it "no" and proceed to the next one. Again, you may already be doing it this way, but I'm just wanting to make sure before we dig into deeper solutions.

When you configure the remote for the TV, you are no longer attempting to use CEC to control the TV, but IR signals from the Roku remote. I haven't really paid attention, but I was thinking that IR controls for the TV didn't show as light flashes. I could be remembering wrong.

If it were set to cec there weren't be any flashes from the remote, in cec mode its wifi from the remote to the roku, then its cec commands over the hdmi cable to the tv. For IR see if the apex or changhong tv codes work any better.

Toshiba DVD Player Remote is an Android application developed by Remotistic Inc. that allows you to control your Toshiba DVD player with your smartphone. This free app offers six different types of remote controls and provides the convenience of not having to worry about misplacing your DVD remote.

With Toshiba DVD Player Remote, you can easily turn your smartphone into a remote control with features including power on/off, mute control, channel digit buttons, volume up/down and channel up/down control, and menu button with up, down, left, and right controls. This app also works offline, meaning you don't need an internet connection to use it.

Selecting any device type will display the remote control that was shipped with that device. Since the Fire Stick 1st Gen did not have app shortcut buttons, they will not be available to use when you configure your card this way. The image and image labels at the top of this thread might help you to understand what I mean by that.

In the event that you are using an apple or android device to interact with your Home Assistant instance, and a simple restart does not solve the issue, please let me know. I might be able to provide some additional device specific help for you.

Every time I press channel up" it jumps to channel 700 (radio) regardless of what channel I start on. If I continue pressing it after that, it scans up as normal, until it reaches the first TV channel, and then it goes back to channel 70/ again. I have a 10 month old daughter, so I suspect she's pressed something on the remote. Everything else works fine.

I found an answer, on my Mum's TV remote there is a language button, pressing it brings up the word English on the TV, pressing OK brings up a menu that defines the channels for the channel up and down buttons. Who knew that was there! It is very well hidden.

A remote for a TV is a device that allows you to control your television through a wireless connection. It is a tool that makes watching television easier, especially for people who are in the middle of a location and need to use their phone as a remote. With this tool, you can enjoy the content of your favorite channels while you are in another location.

There are a number of different remotes for TVs, but they all work in the same way. The first step is to install the app that is provided by the TV manufacturer. If you are using an Android device, then you will need to download the app from Google Play.

Harmony automatically imports your Toshiba Smart TV channels and displays them under the favorites section on your Harmony remote. Commands specific to your Watch Smart TV Activity are also displayed for which you can add, remove or rename them.

Although Harmony has already mapped default commands to your remote buttons, you have the ability to assign custom commands to them. For more information, see: Customizing physical buttons on your remote

The FlashAir card will work in the E-PM2, but it does not provide the same "built-in" functionality that the E-P5 provides. You can't operate the camera by wireless remote control; you will not have the QR code "easy setup" option; nor can you geotag an image using gps data from your phone.

i was considering buying one of these for the E-PL5 thinking i could use my smart phone as a wireless remote trigger which would have been useful and that was pretty much the main reason as i dont mind transferring by cable or SD card and i dont geotag much at all.

hi,

i bought toshibat smart tv 32lblabla which lack of functionality of Sleep timer, what i am shocked.

I need this functionality, so I try a lot of android IR remote apps, but didnt find SLeep timer. I tried Toshiba Smart Remote app, and here we go, Sleep timer function was invoked despite it is not officialy supported. THen I want to buid any small device with ESP8266 which will use code 1042 in order to invoke sleep timer.

Simpliest solution will be to find on ebay another IR remote, which has sleep function and works also on my TV, but as I said, i Didnt emulate sleep timer with android apps.

any hints?

hanks

Companies not known for mobile devices are also getting into the tablet business. TV maker Vizio said its offering, the VIA Tablet, will have a screen that measures 8 inches diagonally and can play high-definition videos, an HDMI port, MicroSD memory card slot to add more memory and a front-facing camera. It will also include a universal remote control app for controlling devices such as television sets. VIA will run Android, but Vizio did not say which version. It also did not say when it will be available or how much it will cost.

Toshiba's IPedge Virtual Server integrates ACD administration into the IPedge Enterprise Manager Administration software for automatic setup and management via one administrator login account. Administration is fully Web-based, allowing the administrator to configure and manage ACD features, locally or remotely, from a Web browser. Licensing is simplified with a single license file that is activated once for IPedge, ACD, and reporting. ff782bc1db
