If you want a versatile, all-in-one recovery and towing solution with three distinct ball sizes and swivel capabilities for city driving, choose TOPTOW Trailer Hitch Tri-Ball; if you need precise height adjustment to level a heavy load on varied terrain or different vehicles, choose METOWARE 2.
• METOWARE 2: Its biggest strength is the six-position adjustable shank providing massive flexibility in drop and rise to perfectly level your trailer; its trade-off is that it only supports a single ball size at a time, requiring you to swap balls for different trailers.
• The TOPTOW pick is ideal for the urban driver who needs quick switching between small utility loads and heavy recovery tasks without changing hardware.
• The METOWARE pick is perfect for the owner of multiple vehicles or those hauling heavy RVs where getting the tongue weight perfectly level is critical for safety.
The TOPTOW Trailer Hitch Tri-Ball is built around the concept of "one tool, many jobs." If you live in a city environment where you might tow a small landscaping cart in the morning and need to recover a stuck vehicle later in the week, this hitch solves both problems without you ever leaving the driveway. The standout feature here is the unique 360-degree swivel base combined with three welded-on hitch balls. This means you can tackle everything from a small garden trailer to a large boat without swapping out the entire hitch assembly.
Beyond just towing, this unit doubles as a recovery point. In a city setting where you might get stuck in a parking garage ramp or need to help a friend pull out of a tight spot, having these reinforced hooks readily available is a game-changer.
However, this versatility comes with a specific limitation regarding geometry. Because the balls are robotically welded directly to the swivel base, there is no mechanism to raise or lower the hitch. You are locked into the factory-set angle. If your truck sits high and your trailer sits low, or vice versa, you cannot fix the slope with this unit. This makes the TOPTOW an excellent choice for drivers who have a consistent setup or who prioritize the ability to switch ball sizes and use recovery hooks over fine-tuning the horizontal alignment of their load. It is a rugged, matte black, heat-treated carbon steel unit designed to withstand harsh weather, but it demands that your vehicle and trailer heights already match or that you accept the resulting angle.

The METOWARE 2" Adjustable Trailer Hitch Ball Mount is engineered for one primary goal: leveling. When you are towing anything heavy, especially in a city where road conditions vary or when you move between different trucks, the difference in height between your tow vehicle and your trailer tongue can cause dangerous sway or poor braking. This hitch addresses that head-on with its impressive 6-position adjustability. By sliding the platform along the channel and securing it with pins, you can achieve a drop of up to 9-1/2 inches or a rise of 8-1/4 inches. This range allows you to fit any Class III or Class IV receiver and ensures that your trailer rides flat, regardless of whether you are driving a lifted truck or a lowered SUV.
This product shines for users who own multiple vehicles or frequently change rigs. Instead of buying a new hitch every time you switch from your daily driver to a work truck, you simply adjust the pins. The design includes a heavy-duty anti-theft steel lock with a rubber cap to keep dirt and moisture out of the keyhole, adding a layer of security often overlooked in basic hitches. The powder coat finish provides protection against rust and UV damage, ensuring the hardware survives long-term exposure to road salt and rain.
The trade-off with the METOWARE 2 is rigidity in terms of ball variety. Unlike the tri-ball option, this unit accepts only one ball size at a time. If you need to tow a small utility trailer with a 1-7/8-inch ball one day and a large travel trailer with a 2-5/16-inch ball the next, you must physically unscrew the current ball and screw in a new one. While this is a minor inconvenience for most, it lacks the immediate "grab-and-go" versatility of the TOPTOW. Furthermore, because it relies on a sliding channel mechanism, it requires careful inspection of the pins and locking mechanism to ensure they are secure before every trip. It is a precision tool for alignment rather than a multi-purpose recovery device.
• Best for ball size versatility → TOPTOW Trailer Hitch Tri-Ball, which gives you three options (1-7/8", 2", and 2-5/16") in one unit.
• Best for height leveling → METOWARE 2, which offers a massive 9-1/2" drop and 8-1/4" rise to flatten your ride.
• Best for multiple vehicle owners → METOWARE 2, allowing you to adapt to different truck bed heights without buying new parts.
• Best for quick switching → TOPTOW Trailer Hitch Tri-Ball, letting you rotate to the correct ball instantly via the swivel base.
• Best for heavy, steady loads → METOWARE 2, specifically if you need to maintain a perfectly level tongue weight for stability.
• Best for compact storage → TOPTOW Trailer Hitch Tri-Ball, combining three balls and recovery gear into a single 12-inch assembly.
• Best for rust prevention features → Both offer strong finishes, but METOWARE 2 includes a specific rubber cap for the lock cylinder to block debris.
For city driving, I would buy the TOPTOW Trailer Hitch Tri-Ball. The reality of urban life involves unpredictable scenarios, from navigating tight parking lots to helping neighbors who get stuck in snow or mud. The ability to instantly access a smaller ball for a quick grocery run and then flip to a larger ball or engage the recovery hooks for a heavy-duty job without stopping to swap hardware is invaluable. While the METOWARE 2 is a superior engineering feat for leveling, the extra flexibility and built-in recovery capabilities of the TOPTOW make it the more practical, all-around companion for a driver who lives in a dynamic environment. It simply does more with less hassle.
You can adjust the height by moving the platform to different pin holes and inserting the provided pins, though securing the anti-theft lock may require a key.
Yes, the package includes one 2-inch tow ball, along with the necessary pins, clips, and an anti-theft steel lock.
