Treatments / Aligners
Aligners (invisible braces) are a discreet, modern way to straighten your teeth.
They are thin, transparent, plastic trays that are custom-made to fit snugly over your teeth.
They are programmed to apply small but deliberate pressure on your teeth in order to gently and gradually move them to give you a straighter, more beautiful smile
You've probably heard of Invisalign, who are the most well known orthodontic aligner brand out there, but there are many other companies who also offer aligners.
I use a UK company call 32Co for my aligners. They are the only company where treatment plans are co-created with specialist orthodontists, ensuring the highest quality, precision, and care for you.
This gives us both the added reassurance that a specialist has viewed and planned your case.
This service costs me a little more, but that I do not pass on that cost to you, aligners are the same price as others offered in the practice.
I believe it is worth me spending a little more for the peace of mind it gives.

Smile Evaluation - free consultation to discuss your specific needs and goals.
Orthodontic Assessment - includes photographs, a panoramic x-ray, 3D scan of your teeth and assessment of your eligibility for treatment. All this information gets sent off to a specialist orthodontist who reviews your case and uses specialized software to plan your tooth movements.
Smile Simulation Review - discussion of the likely outcome of treatment, with a digital animation showing how your teeth could look after treatment, confirmation of the number of aligners needed and likely treatment length. Treatment complexity with the potential need for attachments, IPR, elastics and refinements will also be discussed. Once you have confirmed you want to go ahead with treatment, we run through a consent form and get your custom aligners ordered.
Start of treatment - delivery of you aligners and detailed instructions how to use them.
Reviews - you will have support from me throughout your treatment journey, with regular reviews scheduled, either in person at the practice or via a video call for your convenience.
Finish - After you have finished wearing your final aligner, if the finished result is not quite as expected, refinements are sometimes needed. This involves making extra aligners and can extend treatment time by a few weeks. There is an extra charge if refinements are needed.
Retainers - Lifelong wearing of your retainers is vital to the long term success of treatment. The cost of treatment includes a set of removable retainers. You can also have fixed retainers (a thin wire bonded to the back of your teeth), for a small extra charge.
Every case is different, and treatment time depends on how many aligners you need and how diligent you are at wearing them.
In general, the more complicated your bite is and the further your teeth have to move, the longer treatment will take.
Each aligner needs to be worn for 10-14 days, so if you need 15 aligners, treatment can take as little as 5 months.
Sometimes refinements are needed, as the finished result is not quite as expected, which involves making extra aligners and can extend treatment time by a few weeks.
The overall cost of treatment is case dependent, but starts at £2600.
Finance options are available.
The price you pay includes everything from steps 1-7 as outlined in the Treatment Journey.
Your initial consultation is free of charge.
The Orthodontic Assessment and Smile Simulation Review (steps 2 and 3) costs £250. If you want to go ahead with treatment, this cost is deducted from the overall cost of treatment.
Extra charges may include:
Replacement aligners due to loss/damage
Refinements (if required)
Replacement removable retainers due to loss/damage
Fixed retainers (if desired)
