Protaper System
SX: Orifice opener. Use the SX file with a light brushing motion outward to eliminate coronal interferences and pre-enlarge the coronal-to-middle third.
Slider: Use passively to establish the glide path down to the working length.
Shaper: Efficiently prep the coronal two-thirds and enhance debris removal.
Finishers: Select the appropriate finisher (F1, F2, or F3) depending on canal anatomy. Use with a gentle pecking motion to reach the working length and complete apical shaping
F1 (Yellow Ring - Size 20, 7% Taper): Use to prepare the apical third in narrow or small canals. If a size 20 hand file is snug and binds at the working length after using F1, preparation is complete.
F2 (Red Ring - Size 25, 8% Taper): Use if the size 20 hand file is loose at the working length. F2 is the most commonly used final file size for standard and average root canals, providing an optimal shape for effective irrigation and obturation.
F3 (Blue Ring - Size 30, 9% Taper): Use to further enlarge the apical stop for larger or wider canals. Advance to F3 if a size 25 hand file is still loose at the working length after using F2
