If you want a simple, low-profile wired speaker upgrade for a compatible TOOKS headband or audio beanie, choose TOOKS Gen3; if you need a self-contained wireless headband for airplane travel, choose Perytong Headband Sleep Headphones. The deciding difference is straightforward: TOOKS is a 3.5 mm headphone set, while Perytong combines a fabric headband, Bluetooth audio, and a built-in microphone.
TOOKS Gen3 vs Perytong Headband Sleep Headphones at a Glance
• TOOKS Gen3’s strength: Its 0.2-inch speakers are designed for a low-profile fit inside compatible TOOKS audio beanies and headbands. Trade-off: It is a wired replacement or upgrade, not a standalone Bluetooth headband.
• Perytong’s strength: It combines a headband with Bluetooth 5.4 audio, a built-in microphone, and up to 14 hours of playback. Trade-off: It is a fabric headband rather than a conventional pair of earphones, and playback time is not unlimited.
• Choose TOOKS Gen3 if compatible TOOKS headwear is already part of your setup and you prefer a 3.5 mm connection.
• Choose Perytong if you want wireless listening in a headband format for sleep, workouts, meditation, or travel.
• For airplane travel: Perytong offers more self-contained listening features; TOOKS may suit you if you specifically want to use compatible TOOKS headwear and a wired audio source.
TOOKS Gen3 is a set of upgrade or replacement headphones made for TOOKS audio beanies and headbands. The key design detail is the 0.2-inch low-profile speaker. That slim construction is intended to sit inside compatible headwear without adding the bulk of a conventional over-ear headset. Cushioned speakers add a comfort feature, which is relevant when the headwear is worn for a while rather than just for a brief call.
The connection is a standard 3.5 mm plug, so the setup is wired. That may be a practical fit for someone with a compatible TOOKS beanie or headband and an audio device with a matching jack. The listed frequency range is 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, and the product uses dynamic drivers. Those figures describe the audio specification; they don’t tell us how loud the headphones will feel in a cabin or how much outside sound they will block. TOOKS lists no noise control, so I would not choose it on the assumption that it actively reduces airplane noise.
How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.

Perytong is a Bluetooth listening device built into a fabric headband. Its listed wireless connection uses Bluetooth 5.4, and the product includes 40 mm composite drivers and a built-in microphone. That combination fits a buyer who wants audio without placing separate earbuds inside the ears, while keeping the headband format useful beyond bedtime. The listed uses include sleep, travel, outdoor use, meditation, and office settings.
For airplane travel, the wireless design means there is no 3.5 mm headphone cable running from the headband to the audio source. Perytong lists up to 14 hours of continuous playback and a charge time of about two hours. That gives a traveler concrete battery information to consider when planning a trip, though actual playback time can vary with use. The microphone is useful if you want to take calls, but its presence alone does not establish call clarity in a noisy cabin.
The fabric is listed as spandex, and the product information describes an adjustable headband and lightweight, foldable design. Those features may appeal to people who want one wearable item for winding down, workouts, or travel rather than separate headphones for each activity. The trade-off is that the sound comes through speakers in a headband, not through conventional in-ear earbuds. Skip Perytong if you specifically need a wired 3.5 mm headset or want a product that is only a replacement speaker set for existing TOOKS headwear.
• Best for a wired setup with compatible TOOKS headwear → TOOKS Gen3. Its standard 3.5 mm plug and replacement-speaker purpose are the defining fit.
• Best for Bluetooth listening without a separate earbud → Perytong. Its Bluetooth 5.4 connection is built into the headband.
• Best for a low-profile speaker component → TOOKS Gen3. The speakers are listed as 0.2 inches thick and cushioned.
• Best for sleep and several everyday activities in one format → Perytong. Its listed uses include sleeping, travel, outdoor activities, and meditation.
• Best for a built-in microphone → Perytong. TOOKS lists a remote control but does not list a built-in microphone.
• Best for a stated playback duration → Perytong. It is specified for up to 14 hours of continuous playback, with a charge time of about two hours.
• Best if you want to avoid charging a wireless headband → TOOKS Gen3. Its listed connection is wired, so it does not rely on a built-in battery for Bluetooth playback.
• Best for airplane travel as a standalone headband option → Perytong. Its wireless design and headband form make it the more self-contained choice, subject to battery planning.
Start by checking what you already own. TOOKS Gen3 is not described as a complete headband or beanie; it is an upgrade or replacement headphone set for TOOKS audio headwear. If you do not have compatible TOOKS headwear, its slim speakers and 3.5 mm plug may not solve your need on their own. The source device matters too: TOOKS specifies a standard headphone jack, so confirm your audio device can accept that connection.
Perytong asks you to think about battery use instead. Its up-to-14-hour playback specification and roughly two-hour charge time are useful planning points, especially when considering a long travel day. If your trip may outlast a full charge, you will need to account for that rather than assume continuous playback. Its Bluetooth connection also makes it a different kind of purchase from a wired speaker replacement.
Consider the shape of the audio you actually want. Neither product’s listed facts establish active noise cancellation. TOOKS explicitly lists no noise control, while Perytong’s wireless connection and headband design should not be treated as proof that it will silence cabin noise. If your priority is listening through a headband rather than inserting earbuds, Perytong is the more direct match. If your priority is adding speakers to compatible TOOKS headwear, TOOKS Gen3 is the targeted option.
Searches for silver open ear earbuds, the best with microphone earbuds, or white clip on earbuds may point to a different kind of product altogether. Those phrases describe other styles; neither item here is identified as a silver open-ear earbud or a white clip-on earbud. Perytong does include a microphone, but it is a fabric headband, not a clip-on or conventional earbud design. Match the product’s actual form to how you plan to wear it.
Finally, compare the support details only in the context of your own priorities. The TOOKS listing specifies a 90-day return warranty, while Perytong lists a two-year warranty. Those are different stated coverage periods, but they do not change the central choice: TOOKS is a wired component for compatible headwear; Perytong is a wireless headband with a battery and microphone.
I would choose Perytong for airplane travel because it brings Bluetooth audio, a built-in microphone, and a headband form together in one product. Its stated playback time gives me a useful battery-planning figure for a trip. I’d choose TOOKS Gen3 instead only if I already had compatible TOOKS headwear and specifically wanted its slim, wired speaker set.
