Tom married his high school sweetheart over 30 years ago, and together they have raised two wonderful daughters. During his career, Tom has taught at every grade level from Kindergarten to doctorate courses, and he has served as an administrator at the elementary, secondary, and district level in small rural schools, urban schools, and mid-size districts. He is currently superintendent of Duncan Public Schools in Duncan, Oklahoma.
He began writing devotionals for fellow educators in 2013, sharing School Leader Bible Study freely through emails and social media. School Leader Bible Study evolved into CHIPS Bible Study (Christians in Public Schools), to include everyone called to serve in public schools.
In addition to this, Tom writes a weekly newspaper column about educational issues called Mostly Educational that seeks to identify the common ground upon which parents and educators have always served children in public schools.
His motto: Public educators welcome all . . . serve all . . . love all.
