TokenLens is a browser extension that runs exclusively on claude.ai. We built it with a single principle: your data is yours, full stop. This policy explains exactly what the extension touches, what it doesn't, and why.
Nothing. TokenLens collects zero data from you. No account required, no signup, no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reports sent anywhere. The extension has no servers, no backend, and no way to receive data even if it wanted to.
All of the following is processed locally in your browser and never leaves it:
Token estimates — calculated in real time from your conversation text using a local algorithm
Usage quota data — fetched directly from claude.ai's own API on your behalf and displayed to you, never stored elsewhere
Cost estimates — computed locally from token counts and public API pricing
Speed & latency stats — measured locally during your session
TokenLens injects a content script into claude.ai pages only. It intercepts the page's own network requests (the same requests your browser was already making) to read usage quota responses from Anthropic's API. This interception happens entirely inside your browser tab. No request is modified, redirected, or duplicated to any third party.
There are none. TokenLens does not:
Share any data with any third party
Use any analytics service (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Sentry)
Include any advertising SDK or tracking pixel
Communicate with any external server
Since nothing is collected or transmitted, there is nothing to retain. The only persistent data is your toggle preference, stored locally in your own browser's storage and deletable at any time by removing the extension.
TokenLens does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect nothing at all, this is satisfied by design.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated version will be published here with a revised date at the top. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
