I am cofounder and CEO of Mantic, a startup using AI to predict future developments in economics, business, politics, international affairs, and technology.
I previously worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Google DeepMind, leaving in 2024. I worked on model evaluations, AI governance, and anticipating future developments in the AI world.
My doctoral research, at the University of Oxford, was about the diffusion of new AI technologies, with case studies on the release of GPT-2 and GPT-3. Alongside, I worked part time as a researcher at the Centre for the Governance of AI when it was part of Oxford's Future of Humanity Institute.
I have a BA in Law from the University of Cambridge (2012-2015), and an MSc in Policy Evaluation from the University of Oxford. I previously worked as a Judicial Assistant in the Court of Appeal for England & Wales.
My ambition is to help the world navigate the complex challenges that will be brought about by advances in AI and other technologies over the next decade.
