biography

the oldest son of king bours of gaul and evaine, older brother to sir bors de gannes, double cousin with lancelot, and cousin with hector de maris. his name would come from a birthmark in the shape of a lion, pointing to his fated destiny that would not come until later in life. for a time he served as a squire for his cousin, lancelot, until he would become a knight fully. it can be remarked upon that lionel's luck had the tendency to be on the poorer side: despite acting chivalrous, he'd often be kidnapped and beaten. the most noted event would be him attempting to kill his younger brother, bors de gannes, when the latter failed to save him when he'd been whipped by a knight, choosing to save a maiden about to be assaulted, that even another knight and holy man had been cut down before god literally had to stop him.
