biography

the wise queen and wife of king arthur. there aren't many women in text that have such a wide variety of opinions depending on the version like one can find with gwenhwyfar. modern texts make mention of her infidelity with the knight of the lake, lancelot, pining much of the blame towards her for causing the dissolution of the round table and eventual fall of camelot. however, what is notably known about her is her wisdom, being a noble queen of roman stock, and kept the affairs of the kingdom under watch. during her banishment due to the event occurring around the appearance of the false gwenhywfar, the affairs of the kingdom would be slipping, and make of the people would mourn for the loss of the true and generous queen.

she loved him, she loves him, she had loved him. gwenhwyfar held many loves in her heart, before and after her marriage, and indeed she loves her husband arthur — in the same breath, she would declare her love for lancelot. yet she's also heard it all: the names and declarations made about her, a woman written among different times, from when having casual lovers while married had been normal versus the views held about her from modern sensibilities. the different texts and versions of her character influences her saint graph, pushing her into the pretender container, as the guilt from her affair lingered heavy in her throat as her heart thumped seeing her person of affection.
