Welcome Letter

Hello Parents and Guardians,

My name is Tina Champagne and I wanted to introduce myself as the full time Bach Physical Education Teacher. I am a proud mom of four children, who have and are going through Ann Arbor Schools. My two oldest are graduate students, I have a senior at U of M and my youngest is a sophomore at Pioneer. I have been teaching PE and Health for the past 13 years while earning my Masters of Education in Kinesiology, Physical Education Pedagogy.

As a physical education teacher I hope to teach students’ activities and skills in an all inclusive environment that promotes healthy and positive attitudes towards physical activity and teamwork. I want to reintroduce the concept of team activity and sport to our students in a way that differs from the traditional style of sport education. I hope to present exercise and activity as an enjoyable experience, performed in a supportive team atmosphere. The key to this is not only teaching the skills but including all aspects of the activity so it can be appreciated to the fullest. My goal is for students to leave my class with the physical as well as mental skills they must possess in order to be active for a lifetime.

I anticipate a great year in Physical Education with your child! Your help and cooperation is vital to the success of our physical education program. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to get in touch with me at school by phone or email at champagnet@aaps.k12.mi.us.

Sincerely,

Tina Champagne
