The University Interscholastic League provides the most comprehensive academic competitive program in the country. UIL Academics has more activities than any other UIL category, with 30 high school tournaments. The activities are intended to inspire students as they learn greater levels of knowledge, to challenge students to tackle important topics, and to give students with the chance to demonstrate mastery of certain abilities. Students are encouraged to think critically and creatively in order to demonstrate much more than knowledge and understanding.
