This International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2023, TLF Share calls for united action towards ending stigma and discrimination particularly to People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLHIVs). Through the TLF CARE program, challenges faced by PLHIVs were identified. Cases of discrimination in the workplace, at school, and even in their own homes and personal social media accounts have surfaced. These cases prove that stigma, fear, and injustice continue to prevail.

Despite all these cases, there is still hope. More and more local government units have started to create their ordinance to ensure that the rights of PLHIVs are protected. As part of our commitment to support the duty bearers in bringing justice to their own communities, TLF Share firmly believes that addressing the human rights aspect of the challenges faced by PLHIVs is an instrumental action towards effective prevention, treatment, and response.

As we honor the lives lost to HIV and AIDS this IACM 2023, we at TLF Share hope that in the coming years, the reason for this celebration is the result of our commitment to end not just HIV and AIDS but also the deaths in relation to this health and human rights crisis.

Through our collective action, we can stop stigma and discrimination.

Through policies and rights-based interventions, we can end HIV and AIDS.

Through a united community of responsive, responsible and respectful rights holders and duty bearers, we can put an end to HIV-related deaths.
