On this significant occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), TLF Share stands resolute in its unwavering solidarity and support for the LGBTQI+ community worldwide.

In the Philippines, LGBTQI+ individuals continue to face various forms of discrimination that persist and evolve, leaving them continuously vulnerable to unequal opportunities, gender-based violence, and hate crimes. Our legislature should recognize and address this long overdue issue by ceasing from delaying and denying Filipinos their right to protection from discrimination based on sexual orientation, sex characteristics, gender identity, and expression.

The lack of proactive measures by the Philippine government to ensure the safety and security of queer individuals is a grave human rights violation by omission. We implore our lawmakers to exhibit prudence, compassion, and a sense of urgency in enacting the SOGIESC Equality Bill which upholds the dignity, human rights, and justice of all citizens, without distinction.

We demand that the government fulfill its commitment to equality and inclusivity, recognizing that a truly democratic State honors the rights of all its constituents. It is imperative that discrimination against LGBTQI+ individuals be eradicated, and that the principles of justice and human rights prevail in every aspect of Filipino society.

TLF Share stands united with the LGBTQI+ community and allies, urging the government to take immediate action for a more equitable and inclusive future.
