On July 5, the newly appointed Secretary of Health, Dr. Teodoro J. Herbosa, led the relaunching of Central Luzon's HIV Control Program. The ceremonial signing of the Pledge of Commitment was held at the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center in Balanga City, Bataan. The text of the Pledge of Commitment as follows:
PLEDGE OF COMMITMENTÂ
We hereby pledge our unwavering commitment to the re-launch of the HIV Control Program in Region III. Recognizing the urgency and importance of addressing the HIV and AIDS epidemic in our communities, we come together to reaffirm our dedication to this cause.
We commit to the goals of the 7th Philippine AIDS Medium-Term Plan and the Global AIDS Strategy in our collective effort to address HIV and reduce inequalities that drive the AIDS epidemic by 2030.
We firmly believe in the principles of equality, dignity, and respect for all individuals affected by HIV.
We pledge to promote awareness, education, and understanding, breaking the barriers of stigma and discrimination associated with HIV.
We will advocate for equal rights and opportunities, actively working towards breaking down barriers, promoting inclusivity, and ensuring that no one is left behind in out collective pursuit of an HIV-free Philippines.
We will actively contribute to strengthen the HIV response in the Philippines through collaboration with stakeholders, government agencies, civil society organizations, healthcare providers, and communities.
We pledge our unwavering commitment to the HIV Control Program, striving to make a positive impact and build a healthier, inclusive community, while contributing to the overall objective of universal health care.
We firmly believe that to achieve a Healthy Pilipinas, Bawat Buhay Mahalaga!
