About the HSPP
Humber-Seneca Polytechnic Partnership
The Humber-Seneca Polytechnic Partnership (HSPP) promotes co-operation and collaboration between Humber and Seneca, while enhancing and expanding learning opportunities for students at both institutions.
The HSPP was created to promote co-operation between the two institutions and to enhance and expand learning opportunities as students begin, continue or complete their postsecondary education.
HSPP diploma-to-degree pathways provide students at both institutions the opportunity to build on their credentials, without losing credits or delaying graduation.
The HSPP partnership also includes joint efforts to develop programs and curricula, enhance student services and share operational costs. The partnership also leverages the respective expertise of each institution for the benefit of all students.
Leveraging our combined strengths through HSPP, Humber and Seneca provide learners with broader options and greater access to the world-class polytechnic education that will prepare them for their careers.
HSPP initiatives and achievements to date
An agreement formalizing more than 200 diploma-to-degree pathways between the two institutions
An entrepreneurship incubator in Maldives; this involved a hub consultancy team led by Seneca’s Director of Entrepreneurship. The Seneca consultancy team set up the strategic direction, policies and procedures and operational framework for the hub. A professor in Humber’s Interior Design program designed the incubation space, along with two Humber Bachelor of Interior Design students, who took part as an experiential learning opportunity.
Ongoing and future initiatives
Co-development of academic programming from degrees to micro-credentials.
Joint teaching and learning professional development opportunities offered on an ongoing basis to academic faculty and staff at both institutions
Continual initiatives related to operational excellence, including:
joint procurement, as applicable
cyber security collaboration and training
energy management information sharing
sustainability and social procurement policy
shared systems, including OneCard, the Learning Management System, and more.
The Future of HSPP
With an ongoing focus on increasing access to world-class polytechnic education, the Humber-Seneca Polytechnic Partnership will continue to evolve, providing students with the best experience possible, identify efficiencies between the two institutions and helping to redefine what is possible through postsecondary institutional collaboration.
