Official Rules

REGISTRATION AND FEES

Online Registration Form must be completed and $18 registration fee must be submitted to the temple office by February 20, 2018.

There will be two different divisions: Adults 15 and up and Youth 14 and under. Each division will have one unique winner where each winner will receive a first place prize.

WHEN/WHERE IS THE COMPETITION

The voting will take place during the TKA Purim Carnival on Sunday, Feb 25, 2018. Voting will begin at 11am and end at 12pm or until all samples are gone.

Entrants must arrive at TKA by 10:40am on Feb 25 with their cookies fully baked and cut into 100 bite sized pieces. Upon arrival, TKA will provide trays for you to display your cookie samples for tasting

PREPARATION

Cookies must be fully baked and cut into 100 bite sized pieces prior to arriving on the 25th.

All ingredients must be supplied by contestant and MUST be NUT FREE! (tka is a nut-free facility).

ALL COOKIES WELCOME; chocolate chip, sugar, gingerbread, or any cookie your heart and stomach can dream up! This is your chance to find out which Cookie is the best of all!

Youth submissions (Ages 14 and under) should be made by the child. Parents may supervise youth participants but please limit your help. Our youth submissions are on the honor system.

VOTING

There will be a designated Bake-off area at the Purim Carnival where the tasting and voting will take place.

Voting is free. All those in attendance at the Purim carnival are eligible to vote. 100 voting tickets will be handed out on a first come, first served basis. Voters will be given one voting ticket per person and will taste a sample from all cookies, placing their vote towards their favorite tasting cookies in both youth and adult categories.

Members of our Purim carnival committee will operate the Bake-off station to make sure voters are sampling all Cookies.

Voters 3rd grade and younger must be accompanied by an adult to obtain a voting ticket.

PRIZES

Winners will receive a cash prize. The amount of the cash prize will vary based on the number of participants registered.

A portion of each registration fee will automatically go towards the TKA Religious School Fund - The remaining portion will be placed in a prize pot with a cash prize for our Youth and Adults winners.

Votes will be tallied and announced at the end of the Purim Carnival.

There will be no refunds for entrance fees. Entrants who drop out of the competition will forfeit their entrance fee.
